I don’t think “allowed” meant one was legally allowed. I took it to mean that it’s socially acceptable to have a very large-scale, public discussion about BlackLivesMatter while a conversation about the Syrian refugee crisis probably won’t get much attention or go very far because less people in America give a shit

“Incompatible with life”.................. Boy, that’s a sticky one.

Your title isn’t accurate at all. He wasn’t removed from the flight for speaking Arabic. He was removed first because a woman misunderstood a word he used and then abused by TSA and the FBI when the conversation became complicated and political. The way he was treated by TSA and the FBI is utter bullshit but don’t do

Maybe some sort of low level electric shock to the testes to produce the dull ache of cramps and a three-days fast prior to the experience would get us a little closer?

Pretty cool! RAINN is so awesome. And while I’m not Apple’s biggest fan on their best day, I do appreciate that they were responsive to the issue.

Yes, exactly. Those are the ones that got me thinking. :(

She knocked out teeth??? I’m grinning at my computer screen so hard right now. That’s not easy to do.

I have to ask... what are the statistics on male rape victims? I know it’s a bit more rare of a scenario but it hurts to think that they are even less likely to report and, if they did, I suspect even less would be done about it.

What I mean is that growing is an art because of the wide range of smells, tastes and highs that can be produced. Chances are that what an average person could encourage to grow in an abandoned lot won’t be fantastic.

Here’s your opposition:

Because growing is an art.

Well now it’s about funneling new workers into the corporate prison complex. I don’t think they care so much about the color of the people getting pushed in. It’s just that poor Black and Latino males were always the low hanging fruit.

Not arguing that! But the Post is rarely accused of putting much effort into their research...

Appropriation means that someone is profiting off of an aspect of a culture that doesn’t belong to them. Participating in the local culture of a place you visit with the encouragement of, and benefit to the locals is just awesome, I think.

How was that appropriation?

The braids in question are specifically the ones done in rows along the scalp like the ones pictured. No culture has a monopoly on the braid itself as far as I know.

Nah, I don’t think so. Holm and Tate both wore their hair in cornrows for the last MMA fight (as have many of the female fighters for the title fights because trying to fight with any hair style less restrictive SUCKS) but “boxer braids” sounds more catchy than “MMA braids”.

So what WOULD make her feel better, I wonder?

An apology works for me but only once and only if it’s genuine. You don’t get to make the same mistake twice.

Have you ever met a bay tree in real life? You can smell it before you’re even under it. It’s sort of a smell similar citronella but much less potent. Fresh bay leaves smell AMAZING and do add a nice taste to thinks like jambalaya. If you can’t smell them when you open the jar, they’re probably just too dried out.

But isn’t that exactly what an insanity defense means? That the person was not able to recognize the seriousness or wrongness of their actions from a moral standpoint? Being illegal and being morally wrong are often not the same thing at all. An insane person can easily recognize that it’s a fact that certain actions
