Go for the gold and have his sidekick be named Droidboy.

No, no. It works. I highly recommend seeing this. Really.

Ok, I have to admit that's pretty funny.

Well, it sort of worked better in Smallville by not being so polished and exactly like an S. Looked more like a figure 8.

Right? They haven't been around long enough for mutations to include eye-lasers or weather manipulation or ANYTHING fun.

I think the better indicator is when they push it TO. Putting the movie in a summer slot, or around a major holiday, shows the studio has faith in its quality. Scheduling it for January-April generally = crap movie.

One's hearing loss has to be really severe to consider those. I've got complete loss in one ear, about 75% loss in the other, and my doctors STILL say I'm better off with just a hearing aid (it has to be a really GOOD hearing aid, but still just a hearing aid).

Actually, considering cochlear implants are sure to progress as well — both aesthetically as well as functionally — that's what I'd want. Once they've got bionic ears that are as good or better than natural ears, I am SO THERE.

She is so adorable I can't stand it. I may not be able to watch the show with her as companion, lest my head asplode.

Yes. Always.

Personally, I decided it was a bad movie right after I watched it. But I reckon this is a "to each, his own" sort of thing.

I only knew of Aubery Plaza from her bit in Scott Pilgrim, so I admit I wasn't sure what to expect for this. But she totally carried the film and was entirely believable as a beautiful outcast (which is a lot harder to pull off than Hollywood seems to think).

Yeah, sometimes I don't know why the hell I ever left.

I admire your restraint in not including Canada or any parts thereof.

Yeah, my comment bordered on off-topic, in a Trek thread. I was just making the point that everything seems to get a sequel these days, and when I was a kid it was kind of a big deal when (for example) Back to the Future got more movies.

I'm not precisely complaining, because I do love these franchises and I love going back to worlds with new adventures.

I didn't read the spoiler section, because I do want to see this movie, and I'd prefer to go in fresh — but the article intro reminds me of my reactions to "Another Earth" which I just finished watching last night.

On the Brotherhood picture, there are five characters, but only four described. I assume the dude with the creeper grin and the gold disc on his chest = Havok?

Actually...I like that idea. A lot.

DC does have the benefit of some of the most recognizable characters worldwide, so maybe they don't strictly need to re-introduce them all the way Marvel did. But origins of some kind would still be needed, and that'd be hard to do without being cluttered and heavy.
