@KEPinion: Yeah, actually I could go with that.

Re: Smallville: Awww, look, they're bringing the bad-guy Earth to the small screen. How cyooot. *sigh*

Don't forget "retrocognition", which is seriously the best fucking word. I've been trying without success to come up with a good word for that ability, and these guys come along with the obvious answer, just as a throwaway. I can't decide if I wanna punch them or hug them.

@Mr.Gawn: Yeah, having met some of them starlets (and full-on stars), I can tell you those girls are skin and freaking bone, man. They look fine on the screen but in person they are so thin, I strongly suspect they do their clothes shopping in the children's section.

WANT.

"...need little more than a few strands of DNA..."

@lightninglouie: I...don't know what your parenthetical statement even means. LOL

@sakuuya: Oh, is THAT what happened. Okay, I can almost go with that.

@LuciusFoieGras: Also an excellent point. Also now that I think about it, given the distances involved, it'd get boring after a while. At least in a ship you could put it on autopilot and watch movies and shit.

@lightninglouie: I dunno, I think Doctor Doom is kind of crummy also. I agree with Chris Braak. It's not easy to do a super-villain well. He's either gonna be lame or he's gonna be so good he gets overused and everyone hates him just on that basis (e.g. gorram fucking Magneto will he just die of old age already;

There's one thing I never understood about the whole origin story for this guy: If the ring allows you to fly around in space... why does Abin Sur need to be in a spaceship?

@DevsterC: I loved it when I was 9. Pretty sure it wouldn't hold up for me now. XP

@Jaxon121906_10k: I knew it, and I told people who didn't know it. But it's still somehow more awesome to see that in the flesh. Maybe that's why she didn't get the nod.

@Shadowdagger: Comic Sans is the exception. Oh yes. Papyrus: a tad more esoteric.

@devianaut: Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm a graphic artist by trade, with a heavy background in typesetting and typography.

Not having read the comics, I'm unfamiliar with the material, so I was slightly disappointed to learn that this isn't a "frontier on another planet fighting aliens" thing.

@ManchuCandidate: The other problem with this: Say there IS an extinction-level event on Earth. You want those guys to be the ones carrying forth our race?

I watched the whole thing. First because I have an unreasoning love for brown-eyed girls with English accents (or maybe that was some other accent, I couldn't really make it out clearly. Whatever, close enough), and then just as I was about to bump it again, they splashed Saldana on the screen and I got to see how she
