Not as hard as I was when Final Fantasy 15 finally dropped and I got to showboat to everyone who said I was wrong about it being nearly completed and was going to be an empty, boring mess of a game.

That’s exactly how it works. You wouldn’t be able to add friends on the different platform to your friends list, but there’d be the second step within the game itself that would have that ability. So yeah, you’d be able to play with your friends, just not have them constantly tagged.

If anything, this kind of option is not only great for the consumer, but puts the ball way more into Sony’s court than they even realize. Ps4 is the more powerful of the 2 consoles so liberating the online component…

The best way to read this would be as a ‘Patent Pending: with limiting rights’ meaning that it’s not being held as a patented copyright, but is retroactive from its inception date should it be fully granted.

My guess is here that the application for the patent is being withheld universally due to concrete backing use…
