What baby's really thinking is, "she's there... AND there!"

I do tend to think that any crime committed prior to age 18 shouldn't be part of a person's criminal record. But all the reasons I think this is important (i.e. - hampers people from creating a stable footing as an adult for actions committed prior to their brain stem hardening) don't really apply to Mark Wahlberg at

GAWD can we stop with the "horny/vulgar shit dudes said on social dating sites" pieces on Jez? As though that's news or interesting or outside of what's available for any random person to experience immediately, right now? Or for that matter, as though it's anything we haven't heard Jez digest a BILLION times over?

Me and a certain lover used to call it a punani. P.S. just got out of another day of training for child sexual abuse interview protocol and was hoping to unwind a bit. Thanks for ruining that, spent all day already hearing about the need to inure myself to words like "cuck-hoo," "pee-pee," and five-year-olds

The role of victim advocates is to believe victims. Sort of flummoxed that a reporter on a rape case didn't learn this much and instead took that belief as journalistic corroboration, rather than the (proper) role of a victim advocate.

Aw, the white guy gets patted on the head, yet again, for mildly understanding very simple, blatant things... Let's all listen to him talk on a major network!

I can't stand Candy Crawley, that lady who earnestly looks into the screen every presidential election cycle and reminds us all that something called THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE exists, and this statement of obvious, civics-101 fodder is supposed to qualify her as an "analyst." They need to rotate her out for someone fresh

From a public safety standpoint, it's a big assumption to make. I certainly welcome the idea that publicity alone might curb criminal behaviors, especially for sex crimes which overall have one of the lowest rates of reporting among types of crimes (property crime is actually the lowest), as a well as a pretty dismal

Also think it's arbitrary to assume a a serial rapist stopped his activities in 2004. If there are victims out there who suffered during the statute of limitations - the kind of message Toronto PD sent - we're ready to listen, we already have investigators assigned - could be a game-changer if there is anyone out

I think Toronto PD went above and beyond what would be expected them. That Cosby's crimes occurred in various places is part of what irks me because no jurisdiction mentioned has taken any initiative - though they've had years to do so as the allegations have been public for a long time. Two of the major issues in law

What I'm saying is - Toronto Police got out ahead of the issue, enabling more victims to press charges. Typically in law enforcement you need a complainant to do anything; they assigned investigators before they even had any, got a couple, and asked for more. In a world where victims often fear they'll be doubted

The difference in the statutes of limitations is itself part of the difference that strikes me. And yet, the LA police chief states they'll investigate even if the incident is out of statute. Why not be more proactive about getting that message out? Why not use this event to reassure victims in general that they will

Which itself is part of the difference that strikes me...

And yet the LA police chief says above, they'll investigate even if the statute of limitations has expired. Why not a more pro-active approach getting that message out? Why not use this occasion to get info out to victims generally, like Toronto did some extent?

READ IT! Shows what craziness a culture of impunity can breed...

Just sort of struck by the difference between this and what's gone on in Toronto with Jian Ghomeshi. October 26 the Toronto Star published allegations by three women that Ghomeshi had assaulted them sexually; within the next week the Toronto Police publicly asked that victims contact them (also, Toronto PD used their

I'm not excusing or rationalizing his statement. On the contrary I thought I was condemning it because he seems to take hatred of women as self-evident.

"Of course, many men hate women and feminists - but they don't shoot them," is what I think Mackay was saying...

She's mostly just kind of constantly putting this tremor her in voice at every turn (deft or not) that I think we've been socialized to read as "diva = good." Unfortunately it takes all the juice and control out of — what was that night anyway — a clearly limited voice. If she had allowed herself to sing like a

"Nobody holds a monopoly upon the season's celebratory spirit, and we hope that our display, among the various others, will contribute to a general and growing understanding of plurality. If there is fun to be had, we'll have it — and we wish the same for all, regardless of religious affiliation, or lack thereof."

"Men lust after fish." Um, no. At least with those bendy poles you can get some fun caning in. Plus dangly little feathers, fishing line for bondage...
