Really? Much of it sounds pretty inevitable to me. The thing I suspect they may be getting wrong through wishful thinking is the 'when' (not in any of our lifetimes). I'm curious, do you really think smarter than human AI will never come about?

Now all we need is a cybernetic, caped, armor clad being installed as president and our transition to movie-land villainy will be complete.
For me the great takeaway from all this is there's an animal called a catshark.
It's kind of like how people in so many horror flicks struggle to come up with words for immortals who feed on human blood and reanimated corpses that eat the living. How many lives could be saved if we just give them all televisions.
Makes me sad I may have given up on this too soon (after 2nd ep. actually).
A good friend of mine, who ironically lives in Prague (originally he's from New Zealand) was detained by the NYPD for taking photos on the Brooklyn Bridge. After some questioning they permitted him to call the friend he was staying with. The conversation went something like this:
