We had been with allstate for about 20 years, and were paying about $210/month, and that’s in addition to having our home insurance with them. Ended up going with Geico. Deductables are $500. Cars are a 2017 Mazda CX-5 and a 2008 Honda S2000.
This incident should be a good way to side-load the information that HEY YOU NEED MORE THAN LIABILITY INSURANCE.
I’ve worked in the industry for about 15 years. Yes, there are shitty homes out there. But yes, that stuff is tracked. Then reported to medicare/medicaid. Then checked by State.
Weights are checked and monitored regularly. The staff would have known, and then addressed it in their care plan...
I would LOVE for No-Clip, or Area5 to follow this group as they start this project, and the company as a whole...
Oh shit, don’t even get me started on people not acknowledging their privileges...
Absolutely. Still for me, talking about money taps straight into feelings of panic, fear and instability. But it also makes me fight for higher pay for my staff because I happen to now be in a position to help others and I know what it feels like, and I still remember it can all go away for me.
I feel you. Something I didn’t include was that first job my wife landed out of college? Found out later that she almost didn’t get the job because of her maiden name. The hiring boss saw her Hispanic last name and “Nope’d” it until the person looking to fill the position convinced him otherwise. And really, she got…
Oh, when I say “Luck”, I definitely mean random statistical chances, coincidences, and mathematical whatchamacallits.
I am thankful every day, EVERY DAY that my wife and I aren’t living paycheck-to-paycheck anymore.
The IRS is a strange agency. When they owed me $11,000, it took over a year to get it due to “Staffing issues”.
Thanks Mike!
“Dude I literally broke down in the gym crying,” wrote one fan in response. “This means a lot to me, thank you.”
I just put one together for my boss at work (The pac-man one), and it’s a nice piece of kit!

Good luck, Kirk! Glad you’re getting back to your first love!
Hell yeah, I pull out my phone and deposit checks from my kitchen...
“Prior Art” can come into it, and with art you don’t have to copyright it for you to own it. It’s not like a patent or a brand. And in some cases, dance can be created under “work for hire”, which means it is a product that has been paid for in it’s creation.
It was part of this “Home Theater” PC that Gateway had at the time, before I started building my own PCs. It was great, we used to use in to play Halo LANs at some point, and I eventually sold it to one of the circuit board designers that I worked with.
Absolutely. That fucker was HEAVY.
