with those kinds of panel gaps, definitely a tesla
the AT-T, a heavy artillery tractor
Even a ram laramie? I just need a truck but I don’t want to buy into a douche team. The Rebel TRX looks like a confederate flag belt buckle in vehicle form.
The Ram TRX name is shorthand for T-Rex, aka a jab at Ford, since it’s bigger then a “Raptor”.
Seems familiar but different
I hope K5 works out for them. It’s a great, underrated car unless you want a sometimes race car. It’s a car for 5 over, not 20 over. But those things are comfortable. I’d rather get picked up in an Optima than a BMW 3 series or Mercedes C class.
The Optimas I’ve been in with Uber and Lyft, had HVAC controls in the…
I see what you did there!
Yes sometimes a dealer will stamp a brand new car as “sold” and move it into the used fleet.
Honda already fixed the Civic...
This is the best article I’ve read on Jalopnik in years. Seriously, good shit. Christian is fast becoming a huge inspiration for me.
In your defense, I wouldn’t put it past Koenigsegg to throw an extra exhaust valve onto the two outside cylinders because...supercar engineering reasons.
I was drooling reading this entire article. The things that have done with this car are so innovative it bottles my mind. The creative packaging, the face-slapping how-was-it-not-obvious solutions to how they were going to make these ideas happen is just incredible.
Damn this is some mighty fine auto journalism. This is why I come to Jalopnik. Great work David.
“The 800-volt battery on the Koenigsegg Gemera is only 15 kWh, and offers an EV-only range of up to 31 miles max, which combines with 590 miles of ICE/electric hybrid range to give the car up to 621 miles of total reach.”
We need to get these guys together with engineers at Tesla, throw in Toyota or Honda to make it reliable - and get the Koreans to style it (yeah I said it - they’re on a roll) and see what they can all cook up together.
I was getting pretty frustrated at the lack of Free-valve mentioning until I noticed the largest section dedicated to it. Thanks for this as it has to be one of the best inventions to come to a “production” engine. Can’t wait to see it filter down to Big OEMs.
As an mechanical engineer and DIY mechanic myself, I’ve been following Christian VK for many years and he never ceases to amaze me. The guy is a brilliant mastermind who, along with his team, actually delivers some of the most amazing automotive technology of the last 20 years. I only hope his ideas trickle down into…
Great article. All its missing is rust.
Did you plan on buying a used Mercedes F1 car before this?
