Call it a hunch but I think he was there to do some harm. Explosives are usually a dead giveaway.

Security guards at women’s clinics are awesome. Last time I got a checkup at Planned Parenthood, there were abortion protestors outside. I felt incredibly agitated until the security guard opened the door to the office for me with a big smile on his face. The security guard in this story averted tragic disaster.…

Kinda figures if it’s a biopic thing and the executive producer is one of the people featured in it, they’re not going to be keen on showing scenes that make them out to look bad, or downplay them to be in the most sympathetic light possible.
