"They're only allowing the woman to be taken off life support because her fetus has no chance of survival." Seriously? Motherfuckers. Imbeciles. Women are NOT Tupperware!

Find some healthy meals that you really enjoy and can cook with reasonable effort. What helps for me is finding something that doesn't necessarily taste healthy; like Shakshuka tastes like delightful lasagna-y goodness but it's just veggies and eggs. I've also noticed eating vegetarian during the week forces me to eat

You're less likely to eat junk food if you're getting enough to eat. Also, if you're not getting enough to eat, your body will hang on to excess pounds because it thinks there's a famine going on out there and needs to, to help you survive. Eat to appetite (if you have a normal healthy appetite) and your body will go

You should watch the documentary, "Fed Up" it really shows how American eating habits/diet fads are problematic. It also deals a lot with sugar addiction. Overall, you don't need to really eat LESS food, but just more healthy and non processed foods containing little sugar.

Try to eat more veggies. I do all of my meal prep on Sundays. Chop a bunch of stuff so its ready to go. Also oatmeal for breakfast keep you full. Try to find something you like - dance, yoga, rock climbing and do it more. Ive been doing really good- for me its crushing sugar addiction thats hard to get under control.

IDK if this is at all helpful, but when I'm trying to get my diet back on track, I'll do 10 days of raw food, then focus on staying away from processed stuff, rather than obsessing over calories. I'm a vegetarian, though, and I hate to cook, so my diet usually involves a lot of raw fruit & veg anyway.

I think one big thing is not *completely* cutting anything out. If sweets are your biggest weakness, have one small piece of chocolate every day and allow yourself something more indulgent than that once a week or every other week.

May we please add that treacly, sad sack, "Stay with Me" thing by Sam Smith?

Even if it's not legally binding, you are giving your family incredible peace of mind.

one time i asked a manspreader if i could sit down. he moves his knee approx half an inch, and i squeeze in defiantly anyways. he goes, "you comfortable?" and scoffs. me: "i'd be more comfortable if i were taking up two seats." scoffs again, gets off at next stop. tiny victory?

My response to a random person with a camera annoying me on the train would be as follows, "Are you insane, leave me the fuck alone" in a calm, bored voice.

Pfft, I am on the mother's side here.

Still, if you say yes, the person will spend extra preparing your spot. I was raised to only cancel under extreme circumstances, if I'd RSVP'd yes. Part of being an adult is sometimes just sucking it up and going, even if it's not what you personally feel like doing at this very moment.

I encourage everyone I know to do this. The laws vary from state to state about whether things have to be in writing, how specific they need to be, etc. but I think that it is an absolutely crucial conversation to have with the people you trust to speak for you in a situation where you can't. I spent a good many years

The Christmas Shoes is a bad song. Full stop, no IMO, no debate. It's a terrible song. Every Christmas, there is always that one person who loves this song, and is actually brought to tears by it. I don't understand this person at all. I never will.

The one I l'm living in, personally, knows that a midwife and a doula are not at all the same profession. One is a non-clinical provider of emotional support, and the other can deliver a baby.

Jesus fuck, no kidding. They'd have delivered the baby safely, then taken over the galley to make a nourishing pot of stew that would be tasty and sit well in Mom's sensitive tummy. THEN, they would have swaddled the shit out of that little bambino and tucked her right up to mom, providing gentle guidance and

I grew up in the area and the San Juans are a great place to see orcas! You might want to rethink the anti-kayak stance - motorized boats are required to stay 200 ft away, but in a kayak you just ship your paddle and float. Mr Parade and I did a private sea kayaking trip based out of Friday Harbor on San Juan Island,

I visited Victoria a few years ago and saw Orcas in a small zodiac for about CDN$80 - prices around $100 now. It was AMAZING! The one I used left from the Empress Hotel.

can't recommend a company, but I do recommend bringing tissues because you will cry your eyes out from all the feels.
