That’s a nice counterpoint for the Tesla. Do with one button on the steering wheel what takes a dozen elsewhere.

Every time I see one of these CTS coupes ahead of me on the road I am surprised by how ugly that rear end is. Atrocious. The ugliness and awkwardness of it surprises me every time.
I thought you were joking. Googled it. sonofabich
heh! In that case I’m in!
Got it. Apologies. I had just finished replying to someone who was extremely rude after claiming I wrote “A” when I clearly wrote “B”... and made an assumption about what you had read.
That’s a cool instagram feed. Thanks for posting! A hundred beautiful colors and two nasty ones. Wow, that’s a lot of choice available!
Agreed. But on a phone I can look at it and spend that second searching for the correct menu. I should not be doing that kind of hunting while in the middle of traffic or on the highway.
It’s more a level of degrees of attention, rather than not being able to comprehend functions in a car. In traffic, an analog button means eyes spend zero time away from road conditions as you reach over, find the button, and twist or push. Multiple buttons in a cluster mean a second away from conditions while double…
For the fourth time. If you’re going to have a stick up your ass, at least go read the discussion in sequence. You’ll see what I was at first trying to semi-politely explain you. If you’re incapable of doing that, and seeing how full of it you are, then please get back on the short bus and head back to school, instead…
You’re looking at the end of a discussion dgstan. The multiple controls comments refer to other vehicles. Non Teslas. I started by pointing out that the Tesla is mostly digital controls, which is not my preference. Conversation evolved to include analog controls on other vehicles as a comparison. If others like…
Dude. Either read the discussion in the order it was in. Or just give up. Kinja does not help, but you’re ass over tea kettle in your attack. Take a break, lad, or, if you must occupy your time, copy and paste the loooong discussion from earlier today based on time stamps, and then please tell me where the F I…
That’s a ..... actually, that’s a really nice fix. Shame about the butterface, but you did make the car much better looking and more better functional. Me likey!
Sigh. Yeah, it’s been a long discussion today between me and a few people. It veered off from a mild comment on the Tesla, as these things tend to do by level 3 or 4 of a reply thread. I know Kinja tends to throw things around, so it can get confusing.
Maybe it’s just a mental block for steering wheel controls.
Uhhh... apparently I’m a confused idiot now. What the hell are you talking about?
Sweet on the volume knob. What about hvac. Still screen-only?
That X5 sounds like a nightmare... frankly, like a lot of the vehicles which first came out with touch screen controls.
Nah, youngish guy with three cars from three manufacturers = 3 different tighly-clustered steering wheel button layouts = good luck remembering where everything is in the car you’re currently occupying.
This exactly. I’m not a truck guy, but I’m really impressed by the way pickup truck interiors are designed, vs other vehicles. Even with eleventy buttons and three screens, the critical controls are within easy reach and easily-remembered location. And keep your gloves on, there will be no issues.
