1) ScarJo is an incredibly famous and well known actress who was amongst the highest paid for a few years. At that level, you can turn down things and share as much blame as casting. She’s not out here bussing tables part time and landing her first big break, this is irresponsible and her response is dissrespectful.

So, that essentially creates a self-fulfilling prophecy. Productions won’t hire minority actors because pretty much all of them aren’t A-list. Minority actors can’t become A-list because A-list productions won’t hire them. Rinse and repeat.

She got paid, she doesn’t care.

Because her taking it actively prevents trans people from using their own voices in a system where they already experience extraordinary marginalization and erasure. She’s an active participant in the oppression of trans folks by taking this role. How is that not clear?

Scarlett has always come across as totally thoughtless and self-absorbed. Remember when she was more concerned about Dylan Farrow setting off famous actresses’ google alerts than with the actual substance of her child sexual abuse accusations against Woody Allen? Ugh.

What she’s not being is calcualted.  She is saying what she thinks: she doesn’t give a fuck.  How much more clear can she make it, aside from actually saying, “I don’t give a fuck.”  This is her.  

I used to like Scarlett but she makes it so difficult. Just listen to criticism and respond thoughtfully. People may even think you’re a better person for it. Imagine that! 

This seems like in the long run it will be more beneficial to Halo due to public awareness of their product being heightened and public sympathy clearly being on their side. Good for them! Their product is awesome.
