Save the Flash spoilers for tonight.

I kind of had this problem with FTL, too. Within my second playthrough (which I’m still on), I knew the game was going to be about upgrading your health (power grid) as the number one priority and then hoping you get decent rewards as you continue going. Same thing with FTL where you had to manage health/jumping, but

I’m still not convinced that’s why, though. Just on the basis of what you said, you’re making it seem like it would be impossible for a Hindu or Muslim (Shinto even) standup to have religious material, and though that might not be a stadium getter, I think current gen standups could do that.

That doesn’t make sense. Regardless of if the audience knew it or not, Mulaney explains the myth and tells you who Solomon is, saying “in case you didn’t know.” In my opinion, that’s all you need. Gervais is literally telling the story of the flood while commenting on it. Once again, regardless of if the audience has

That’s kind of a stretch. In Gervais’ bit on the flood, he does explain the myth (going so far as to use a picture book). Likewise, John Mulaney has a great bit about the judgement of Solomon where he explains the story before addressing how absurd it is.

Even in the western world, Islam definitely has a huge influence. I mean, I assume it is number 3. And I mean, im assuming the Gervais audience is global enough to know israel is a major power and Islam travels well.

Yeah, but as someone memtioned before, Gervais stuff is abrahamic religion, so you could still do a Jesus routine and have it be Islamic (to be fair Gervais never pointed that jole squarely at Christianity).

...because the Phoenix Suns suck?

True enough christianity is the top power, but wouldnt SNL still make fun of Pence, Sanders, and Putin? There are other religions with that degree of influence.

Exactly, so why not use Yhwh or Muhammad?

A good majority of them do/did do that and more. Now, if the jokes were about the marriage of church and government, ok, but his joke in the teaser was “JESUS WAS NOT REAL!” In his other special, he’s mocking the Noah story. Those two targets aren’t exclusive to Christianity.

I’ve always wondered why low bar clearing atheist comedians never turn to the many other monotheistic and polytheistic religions out there. Like, you’ve done the Jesus thing, but why nothing on Amaterasu, Re, Yahweh, Buddha, the spider grandmother, or Gilgamesh?

I assume the main villain behind everything is a sentient Call of Duty disc.

I figure if you guys watch about 2 minutes of each show, that would definitely be enough for you to make another broad generalization of the medium.

Exactly. Don’t listen to them, Wesley; you played great last night.

First lesson: The 3 hour runtime. Your best friend.

Well, what cheetah do you know that is immensely pleasant?

They should have delayed Punisher indefinitely, though. I mean, we could live in utopian society with no gun violence (Read: Japan) and they still should have delayed the Punisher.

Check that. It’s actually better than Lonerism.

Is Joe Flac...er Kirk Cousins elite?
