I feel like there’s a certain breed of insecure man who needs to feel like men are “better” than women just so he’s automatically better than someone.

It’s not about including everyone. The point is that she is exemplifying the outlook of the young white, rich, Brooklyn set that is pervading this city. The gentrifying horde.

I usually laugh or roll my eyes at her childishness but that was hurtful as fuck. But then again I feel like it’s a true reflection of some mother/daughter relationships.

Lena has talent for sure - some of the bottle episodes were amazing. I liked this show at times, but it’s also quite tone deaf in other places. Watching the “behind the episodes” parts confirmed for me that it’s mostly because Lena is tone deaf - her reactions to/explanations for the characters’ behaviors have a

Watching this, I had that feeling you have when you find out some nice young kid you had a crush on from your high school developed a drug addiction and never moved of your home town or got a job or anything. It’s just a shame.

The whole time with that girl I thought they were going to double back on that trope. Then it just kept rolling on and finally I thought “Well, I guess we are doing this.”

I remember back in season one where Hannah spent the weekend with that doctor. I had a very similar life circumstance (not motivated by trash) and the way it was staged, written, and preformed just KILLED me. It’s rare that I feel that kind of guttural reaction to television.

You’re not wrong, but I get supremely ticked when women/minority creators are held to a higher standard than white guys in entertainment. There’s this double standard where when women/minorities create something, they have to include everybody else who has been historically excluded too whereas white guys have been

It was horrible. Why are final episodes of long-running shows so frequently awful? This whole baby thing is just so not true to the overall nature of the series as it is, but the finale truly felt like an extra shitty episode of Thirtysomething.

Agreed. This was kind of a soft, strange epilogue that seems completely removed from the universe of the show. Not totally implausible, and I think Hannah will do well where she is, but I agree that the second-to-last episode really closed the book. This finale felt like your average fanfic vignette.

I find it amusing when people talk about how we shouldn’t conflate Hannah Horvath with Lena Dunham, because honestly every time I read an interview with her it make sure me realize that while Hannah is fictional, Dunham is actually championing many of her worst qualities rather than lampooning them.

Shout out to Loreen who was for sure the star of this episode and, had some of the best moments of the season.

Is anyone else horrified at the idea of Hannah raising a brown boy? This kid is so screwed...

As someone working airline logistics, you should do your fucking job so these situations get avoided in the first place.

As a paying customer of an airline, it is not my responsibility to make sure the airline has their bases covered. Give me a break.

As a passenger, I hope people remember that airlines need to manage their own shit and not ask paying passengers to do it for them.

So true. People used to think Mr Mars was my brother. We had a funny scare when we realized that he was adopted and is the same age as my half brother who was given up for adoption in the late ‘60s (the things women had to go through) by my then single mother. We realized we weren’t related and have been relieved ever

why do I kinda love this? Noel Fielding looks like the cybergoth son that this family has chosen to accept

Even the bears there are inappropriate

Look, it doesn’t matter who I killed, just that you remember I killed them bestly.
