If you want to see a monster truck crush rocks, don’t bother watching this. No, wait! I promise you don’t want to…
Not necessarily. McLaren rebuilt a handful (I believe 15 or so) P1 prototypes and sold them to customers.
It’s only the ones without VINs that have to be crushed. And they don’t even have to be crushed in one piece, either. When our Lexus training center’s IS-F had to go to the crusher, the employees stripped the car of all its running gear and pet much just delivered the body to be crushed. They put the drive train,…
M brakes tend to squeak until they warm up.
Same reason 98% of M3 buyers buy the M3....

Oh wait you think these people are actually tracking or racing their M3’s? hahaha.
HAHA! Heyyoooo.
People in the UK buy M3’s like people in the US buy AMG G wagons. They don’t give two halves of a shit about the performance, they just want the badge so they can show everyone that they can afford an M3.
Probably his dream car. Then after a short time of ownership, ignoring the flaws, he got it out of his system and realized it is an impractical choice. I bet he rarely ever used more than 30% of the M3’s capabilities. Slow car fast, and all that jazz. With the added fuel economy to boot.
I'd rather buy a BMW hooned by Clarkson than a Camaro driven by a Jalopnik employee
That’s because that’s exactly what it is. It’s a LS design that’s been doubled. Custom billet block instead of simply welding a couple blocks together is really what makes it special.
You're being That Guy.™
So it has the power of nine Corvettes instead of ten. You’re right. Weaksauce.
It’s 10%. Let’s be real that’s like Ford setting out to produce a 450hp GT and getting to 405hp.
They’re 90% there. Call it what it is. A “whole Corvette’s worth” means little in the grand scheme of 4500 total.
It maxed out the engine dyno. It very well may make more power.
I disagree. Devel hasn’t done anything. This engine builder has done something pretty interesting though. Devel signed a check, so it’s their thing, but this is not a 5000 hp supercar, nor is it even a 3000 hp supercar. It’s a guy named Steve’s really awesome almost 5000 hp engine.
#cotdnominations
Might be unusable, might never be hooned. Nonetheless, gotta hand it to them—they got within 500hp of an insane goal and that motor is pretty damn remarkable. Batshit yes, bullshit no. Devel 1: Jalopnik 0 in this round.
So I guess the Devel...is really in the details.
