This is the first dish I made from this book, and it is probably about as perfect as it gets. There are tons, literally thousands, of beef stew recipes out there, but this is the one I keep coming back to. It rewards patience and attention to method (don’t crowd the pan!).

I have that cookbook and it is well-loved. There’s not a lot of bullshit involved, which is pretty much Bourdain’s philosophy on food. Just cook and eat really good food and quit dicking around with all the frilly bullshit.

Even if you’re just joking here, you should try this because I guarantee you would make someone’s day.  :)

Anyone who doesn’t already know this has never had a McJob. I did 4 years at McD’s in the small town where I grew up and the things I heard about and from people I know VERY well would kill you stone dead.

Even when it’s ice cold, which is the recommended temp for Coors Light, it tastes warm to me.

HAMM’S.

With okra, it’s a feature, not a bug.

That would be enough to make me a vegetarian.

McDonald’s as a job is many things - boring is usually not one of them. I spent 4 years at my McJob and it could be smelly and gross and irritating, but it was never boring.

People who comment in this form (either in earnest or in jest) should be set on fire.

Same here! But it was totally a hype beer before we got distro in NJ. People would trade for it and mule it from out of state. Now that we can get it, it’s more of a “well, there’s nothing else that looks interesting, so...”

I haven’t seen this one near me but I will seek it out. I like Jai Alai well enough, but I think that beer suffers from having been a hype beer that we can get easily since they distro to NJ now (see also: Fat Tire). Two years ago, it was “OMG CIGAR CITY” and now they’ve shuffled to the middle of the pack, more or

But it’s totally okay for him to roll around with another dude? Physical contact *is* the sport. If he’s uncomfortable with it, he should take up badminton.

No, I get what you’re saying! It’s not really the best look for him at any size, but it was really shocking to re-watch Gavin and Stacey and see just how much weight he has lost!

If you think he’s non-skinny now, you should watch Gavin and Stacey. He’s lost quite a bit of weight since then!

Zero food waste is a good and important goal!

What about packaging? Have you achieved zero packaging waste?

That’s horrifying!

I cannot with Burlington. The one closest to me probably *isn’t* infested with fleas, but it *feels* like it is.
