"Oh, yes, that was my old dog. He passed on and I had him freeze dried! Cuz I love 'im!"

Your mom sounds like a wonderful human being. O_o

That Scene is freaking brutal and I love "ParaNorman" for it…

Mrs. Bucket: "Remember that the world is still your toy. / If the world gets heavy, never pitter patter! / Cheer up Charlie, dooooooooo!!!"

Huh. In fairness, I always tend to zone out during the bank scene.

Yes. Then you watch it as an adult and realize how horrifying that is…

I… think you may have watched a different version of "Mary Poppins" than I did. The only old lady in it is the kindly bird feeding lady.

Ah, "Zoobilee Zoo". The barely-remembered children's television program that only makes sense if it takes place in an Anthrocon cursed to never end.

No, he turns into a were-HUMAN, dodgy early CGI transformation effects into a live actor and all. Which they decided to show a freeze-frame of during the end credits. Thanks.

Yeah, it stands with "Last Unicorn" and "Brave Little Toaster" and "NIMH" as a movie that will permanently alter your entire philosophy of life if you watch it when you are, say, six.

It also isn't a Disney movie, but overall fits the feel.

And the Rankin Bass-esque characters in Elf!

Even the camel is a little unsettling with him pining for a place to call home after being an abandoned toy.

Except for the fact that the author wrote the book based on stories he told to his children? And if we're going here, Last Unicorn is hardly meant to be a children's book either (though I am living proof that the movie will permanently change your entire philosophy of life if you see it at the age of five.)

Donald's Wacky Peyote Vision!

I maintain that "Little Monsters" started life as a straight, serious "little kids in peril" horror movie that somehow mutated into… whatever it is.

It was an episode about Chuckie having weird dreams. This one didn't bother me as much as the episode where Tommy gets sick and has a deeply upsetting fever dream. (E: It's mentioned in the earlier thread.)

Guys, "I've Got You Under My Skin". As duetted by a giant Muppet monster and the smaller one he's eating alive. Fucked me up as a lass. Now it comes across as even more fucked up since it's clear some kids had… the opposite reaction, let's say.

The whole thing is a little kid's fever dream, and it's a damned accurate capture of that feel.
