I'd be in a much happier place if radio stations played Bruce's "Merry Christmas Baby" half as often as they play his "SAAAANTA Claus is Comin' to TOWN!!!"

Liked for the "Wreck-It Ralph" reference.

If you can't stand Bob Dylan (a) tell us what it's like to have no soul but more on-topic (b) don't go anywhere near the anniversary version where he is replaced by interchangeable pretty pop stars using fucking auto-tune.

This. This, this, this, this, this. Wish I'd seen your post before I wrote my vitriolic knee-jerk reaction.

Oh, for the last time, the snow and even the Christmas in "Do They Know
It's Christmas" is a metaphor directed at people who were only dimly
aware the famine was even happening back then. Did I stumble into a
Tumblr social justice warrior site?

Thoughts on the live version of "Bad"? I feel that's where most people are all-in with U2 or giving up, even if they haven't heard it yet.

That's part of why it's the first song on my Christmas party mix.

This is borderline "cool story, sister" but I don't care because I still think it's awesome. I heard "Fairytale" played by a live Celtic band, swears and homophobia intact, in, of all places, Walt Disney World. It was surreal.

It always makes me a little sad that us (suburbs) South (of) Boston kids get both "Fairytale of New York" *and* Bing Crosby's adorable "Christmas in Killarny" while the poor North End kiddies are stuck with "Dominic the Donkey".

Mr. Dink needed the help as he fell into some rough times after the series ended.

"…everyone was affected by the time paradox that one spoiled little 10-year old created."

And we will probably go to (raspberry)
And that is our great reward!
For bein' the-huh ROI-HOY-YALL
CUH-NADIAN KILTED YAXMEN!!!!!

(Ahem)

That's… huh. That's *something* at any rate.

My mother and my sister and I watched it last night. The mood went from "Aw, look how little Macaulay is!" to "Welp, this is a visualization of all our anxieties." to cringing during the whole defending the house against the Wet Bandits scene.

Of these, I've only seen the "Invader Zim" one. Looks like I can be okay with that.

The guys who run the Republic City Dispatch podcast have a joke commentary episode for "Last Airbender" and… well, the thing isn't available on Netflix Instant yet so I just can't…

I had read somewhere that John K. was out to prove something about how he felt animation was basically stupid because it's just a lot of emotional manipulation. "Let me show you how easy that is by making you cry over a fart!"

Really? If true, that's fascinating.

Yeah, it's such an awkwardly out-of-left-field deeply upsetting moment, even for a movie full of awkward or upsetting moments.
