@Penny: I've been hit before too.
@Penny: I've been hit before too.
@katknits: Why not? He's actually showing that he takes what he did seriously enough to be proud of his success at overcoming his issues. He himself is keeping the focus on what he did, as well as the steps he's taking to address what what he did.
Nothing can excuse what Chris Brown did. But I wonder what everyone who is disparaging a year's worth of work to address his violence thinks the penal system should, ideally, be for: punishment or rehabilitation.
Shut the fuck up. Sir Simon Cowell?
@Ms Meghan is Reppin' the Triforce: Wish granted.
@RayBradbury's_ElephantMonastery: Definitely sneakers.
@ThisMsMoi: Polygamy isn't strictly for men to have multiple partners. There are many examples of polyandrous relationships as well. It's not always based on abuse or sexism; it has its roots in economics (it's much easier to deal with property and succession in a polygamous marriage) and, in modern times, love.
@SavageGrace: It depends where you live. I'm within an hour of Bountiful, the community being referenced, and this has been in the news for years. It's bounced back and forth between the federal and provincial government to deal with.
@Vegetarigasm: It would be great for an organized group of angels to be there for all of the Westboro shenanigans. I'd donate to that.
@Vegetarigasm: Have you ever seen The Laramie Project? When these jackasses showed up to protest Matthew Shepard's funeral, counter-protesters wore angels' garb and blocked the Westboro gang so mourners wouldn't have to deal with them. The staged production that I saw had the angels raising wings to completely silence…
At first glance, I thought the news item said that Ashley Olsen was moving in with Justin Bieber, and my mind was blown. Luckily, all I need is more coffee and perhaps glasses.
@JinxyMcDeath: Glad I could oblige. I'm returning the favour (in the spirit of mutual satisfaction, of course).
@CParis: The implication in the first comment is that Kunis wouldn't be considered because of her comedic work, which isn't the case. Portman hasn't been slighted by the Oscars, nor has she created decades of such impressive work that she's "due." Comic and character actors regularly get the nod for strong…
@JinxyMcDeath: Look, I think we're all OK with heterosexual oral sex existing, but that doesn't mean we have to have it shoved in our faces (so to speak).
@femme-bot: I expect this will be Sarah Palin's next soapbox issue, as this is clearly socialism at work. How dare they take away Americans' right to eat pointless crap?
@roodles: But an Oscar for best actor/actress is awarded based on the performance in the movie, not on the cumulative body of work.
@AnnieSaBu: Guilty.
@AnnieSaBu: That's the same thing she says about American newspapers or news journals in general. You know, all of them.
@Kitty Conner: There is no humour in Literal Land, which is a vast, joyless place of silence, stern looks and the solemnity. The chief economic export are tall poppies.
@Coleasourous: I don't think it's just normal for both sexes—I think it's normal for most cultures. Genitalia has been depicted, quite often disembodied, by many of the world's great cultures as both an overt and unconscious display of power and fertility.
