@katknits: Why not? He's actually showing that he takes what he did seriously enough to be proud of his success at overcoming his issues. He himself is keeping the focus on what he did, as well as the steps he's taking to address what what he did.

Nothing can excuse what Chris Brown did. But I wonder what everyone who is disparaging a year's worth of work to address his violence thinks the penal system should, ideally, be for: punishment or rehabilitation.

It's not always based on abuse or sexism; it has its roots in economics (it's much easier to deal with property and succession in a polygamous marriage) and, in modern times, love.
