If nothing of this fancast remains, it BETTER be Tilda as Peck. Inspired.

My husband and I were talking on the way home about how there were actually quite a few things in the film that reminded us of Chronicles of Riddick's worldbuilding/technology/vocabulary but while those things dragged Riddick down and made it worse, they felt RIGHT here.

I thought it was... fun but underwhelming. It didn't give me the joy that some people are getting out of it, either from the excitement of the story or the excitement of watching great filmmaking.

I am very slightly disappointed with this movie. It's a great time and I absolutely recommend it. However, there's so much going on, it's like the film is trying to distract you from the Guardians themselves who are just perfect. I loved how the group came together and each actor and actress did their job to a T.

my take of the movie: UNCONVINCING AND DISJOINTED. not a real drama but a poor pantomime of a drama as enacted by a kid who has seen dramas before. join me for a review in vignettes. i'm picking these vignettes as microcosms of flaws that run throughout the movie. (ALL SPOILERS):

There was a lot I loved about this movie, Drax especially, but overall I found it really disappointing. The biggest impression I was left with was that that initial "Unga Chucka" advert was directed better and more intelligent than the final product.

Considering that the drawbacks to the lasting power of this movie are the incredibly weak script where half the dialogue consists of stating the obvious (which yes I know, it was intentional, I get it) and the unimaginative/personal soundtrack ("The intentionally cheesy bubblegum pop soundtrack is the main character

OH DUDE YOU'VE MADE ME SO HAPPY, I'VE LITERALLY FELT LIKE THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD WHO THINKS THIS MOVIE IS THE MOST OVERHYPED, UNFUNNY, FORGETTABLE BEHEMOTH'S I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED. And God, it's nice to know I'm not alone; I could hug you.

I felt like the only shortcoming the film had was it's villains. Lee Pace was way over the top as Ronan (he's so much better with subtlety). Josh Brolin was remarkably underwhelming as Thanos, especially with that way too southern drawl he used. And Nebula just wasn't threatening. Yondu on the other hand, was

Everything about this movie screams Farscape to me. The dynamic. The love subplot. The pop culture references. Even Peter Quill's jacket. I'm psyched.

This is why we have Kim K. She owns who she is. She doesn't pretend to be an expert at anything other than being a celebrity. It makes her refreshingly honest when compared to all these people.

Why is there a Resident Evil part 54432 pic here?

Keep it on the hush, hush. On the QT.

No, you're right, it isn't fair. It's A Sorta Fairytale.

But legalizing would give prostitutes a whole bunch of options that they don't currently have. Like going to the police without fear of being arrested themselves.

I have a longtime fantasy (not in a naughty way) of running my own brothel.

More science/tech innovation stuff. Not latest phone or new laptop stuff, but I was surprised I didn't see a story on the big advance with the Bionic Pancreas project that was released last month. These types of future-is-now stories and comic related things are why I keep coming back.

It's a common misconception that the Immaculate Conception refers to the virgin birth when it actually refers to Mary's conception.
