I reread IT recently—I loved it when I was a teen. And I love King in general—he’s just an amazing storyteller and a decent guy. That scene is juts...cray. And not necessary. I remember being like “wut?!” when I was younger, but, much like you, it didn’t seem totally insane (like it does to my adult self).
