Looks like the Trump administration has found a new Labor Department staffer.
“America will need more compassionate educators like him.”
In case you want to know more about the character of this coach, the article notes he drives a white BMW.
Plan to join the strike in some capacity: also joining in the enconomic aspect of the strike by not buying things you would helps. I.E.: don’t get coffee that AM, brown bag your lunch, no e-shopping.
I understand that. I also think a lot of the people striking do so as a surrogate for those who can’t. However I also agree that we need to identify more inclusive means of participation.
This is just one prong of the protest effort. Folks who can’t take part in the strike will have many, many other opportunities.
This is never not true. It doesn’t even matter what the Facebook post is. It could be some random person’s dinner picture, and there would be a comment saying, “teh sauce on ur spaghetti looks like the blood of Obummer’s aborted fetuses librul murderer”
This is good, but what about all the minimum wage workers and people whose bosses won’t understand? I think strikes can be effective but we also need systems of protest that are more inclusive for people who can’t afford to strike.
This is really clever, though Google Voice transcripts mean that I pretty much never need to even listen to voicemails anymore.
Fuck them. This is awesome.
Don’t read the comments on fb.
As much as I hate the phone, voicemails still do have a place. However, since I changed my vm greeting to basically say “text or email if you want a response” people have started contacting me by other means. This is great when you A) hate phones and B) work in a cube farm and can communicate without having to step…
Terrific idea! Though I don’t mind vm nearly so much with visual vm plus transcripts. That way at least I don’t have to actually listen to a single god damn message. Select, glance through, delete.
Then call to attention the conditions poor kids grow up in (bad housing, poor public education and high crime) and talk down to them the entire time all while promising to not leave them behind.
That’s also their philosophy for government.
I know some teachers who took a early retirement rather than continue on.
Mismanage and under fund it and then scream about how bad it is and that it ‘just doesn’t work’.
I don’t think everyone gets what an epic disaster this is. I work in education and EVERYONE is freaking out. Even charter schools and voucher schools. This woman honest to God has no idea what she’s doing and her ideas ideas are outdated even among the voucher crowd.
This just seems like such an odd thing for them to pursue. Why in the hell are they going to the mat for this imbecile? When it comes to picking your battles, the Trump administration is choosing a blitzkreig
