I work in IT this is typical. IT will submit a request to move to a new software because license is expiring or end of life. accounting wont approve and then the day finally comes when that software is gone and NOW we get yelled at for “letting” this happen

Gas tax is an insanely regressive tax and targets the middle/lower class. It’s a stupid tax and basically political suicide as it’s deeply unpopular across the isle.
This is effectively a punitive tax on the poor. Guess who can afford Teslas and new hybrids and stuff? Oh right, well-off people.
Without accountability this will go to waste. Washington has some of the highest gas taxes in the country and our roads are worse and worse every year and legitimately some of the worst in the nation. And my point isn’t that we shouldn’t pay gas taxes, but that it rarely goes where it is desperately needed.
