First, Tesla made the supercharging network, not Elon. Tesla existed before he came along and made the Roadster, which arguably lit the fire that jumpstarted the modern EV craze, before he was even CEO. And I could easily list a few ways Tesla would be doing much better today without Musk fumbling along.

I’ll start criticizing America’s love for gas powertrains when an EV truck can drive across Texas without having to stop four times to charge, eight times if they’re towing.

I totally agree. Once charging stations are common and people realize there is one in almost every town, and so many miles on all interstate highways, EV sales will take off. Most people I talk to are afraid they will not find a station when they need one. 

I hope Tesla faces the same degree of scrutiny from regulators as Toyota did.
