It is worth noting that this was filmed in the UK - quite a lot of “normal” cars have worse power to weight ratios than the i3, there.

This phenomena is exactly what converted me over to liking and accepting hybrids. Sure, just as the SaveTheClassics with the i3, above, stated - they aren’t the fastest - but for daily driving and commuting they seem to make a better “commuting scalpel” (my own term) to deliver the power when it’s needed the most. I

Real life quickness doesn’t necessarily mean a low 0-60 time

Sean MacDonald was fired about two weeks ago, right after he bought a new truck to haul bikes around in. Yesterday, Máté Petrány was fired while he was writing an article for Jalopnik. There has been zero disclosure about any of this, and people that have asked about it have been greyed out.

“when my American bruvs tell me that my British accent makes me sound more intelligent, I bite my lip thinking about all the other British accents that have quite the opposite effect.”
This is a chav story. Gotta use the correct terminology.

God, that was so good. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is brilliant too.

I was thinking Layercake

When my American chums tell me that my British accent makes me sound more intelligent, I bite my lip thinking about all the other British accents that have quite the opposite effect.

You sure this wasn’t just footage cut from the movie Snatch?

All of the Jalopnik Europe staff are gone now too.

Not necessarily. People get bored with a job or get a better offer somewhere else all the time. Doesn’t mean anything’s wrong. And I’ve worked on projects where lots of engineers leave after engineering work is done but before the product ships.

This story sounds familiar. Except this guy took his own walking papers instead of being given them. With no explanation. For a site that used to be very open about it’s changes in the staff (bidding goodbye and welcoming) it’s been very quiet around here. The community will devolve the more you distance yourselves

Not a Wilson or Seahawks fan, but that was bullshit. Fortunately, Golden Tate has been given a just and proper punishment in playing for the Lions.

“If you’re dating a woman that’s way out of your league, keep her away from Golden Tate.”

I’m with you except for the tip thing. The beauty of Uber is that it involves no cash, no cards, just your phone. The drivers I’ve spoken to loved driving for the company, but I have no problem paying more overall if the driver gets more- just don’t make it a tip! The driver is literally not doing anything special

I should have pasted a separate section of the article where it stated that 10% of cab drivers in Boston (or Washington DC, i closed the window already) passed the city’s background check but failed Uber’s.

Counter point from an article in The Atlantic in 2015:

No, the whole, everyone who wants a job doing anything needs to submit fingerprints, is nonsense.

My now wife and I went into marriage both owning houses which we acquired right as the bubble peaked. We’re both close to positive equity for the first time since then.

Yep, the whole responsibility vs. flexibility thing is important. I do think it comes secondary to doing the math and protecting yourself financially, though. Still, those are important considerations.
