I dont have the energy for the long response.  But basically in the 60s some right wing economist proposed that the only point of corporations should be maximizing shareholder value.  This caught on fairly quickly, and got propogated by consulting firms like McKinsey, who then spent the next few decades coming in to

It’s a pretty interesting term, though. Crocs are known to shed tears while eating, so way back in the BCE times it was a saying that crocodiles wept for their victims as they ate them. The saying basically called out people who privately wished harm on others but then publicly mourned for them after harm befell them

I think they brought up Origins because it wasn’t Conroy in that one. Joker and Batman were voiced by different people. Both of whom did great, to be honest.

That’s definitely been my experience with ADHD.

I don’t know, but maybe when you’re a child you just assume other people are fine with however you behave, while as an adult you constantly second-guess yourself over every social encounter.

It’s starting to feel like live service game monetization is becoming something of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Trying to build a game around a live service design ends up taking so much more time and development resources that they literally need the live service tail to even turn a profit. But they could’ve released

In media we generally refer to it as “the passive voice.” Actions just *happen*. For example, if police shoot someone, you will generally read in the paper that the suspect was “struck by gunfire,” as opposed to “shot by police.” In Israel/Hamas news, you’ll read “Israelis were slaughtered by Hamas” while

We really do live in a time of diminished personal accountability.  “I’m sorry that he got hurt.”  He didn’t “get” hurt.  YOU HURT HIM.

I had a few times where women I was attracted to but not hitting on out of respect would then drunkenly say they thought I was gay because I wasn't hitting on them. A whole boomerang of toxic masculinity and insecurity.

What bugs me a lot is I’m really really enjoying starfield right now , specifically becuase of the way it handles NG+ ...from the second time around its been an amazing experience and something I dont get to see much in games at all ..but I cant use that in an argument about why Starfield is fun , as if you dont go

It’s weird that she’s open about her attraction to women and then says something astoundingly hetero normative like boys don’t get judged for their bodies because girls are nice. Like there are no gay men.

I was suprised by the guy who didn’t think remakes should qualify. You don’t even think sequels should? Weird!

I definitely don’t think that the ‘women don’t judge men’s bodies’ thing is true in any way.

“Nobody ever says a thing about men’s bodies. If you’re muscular, cool. If you’re not, cool. If you’re rail thin, cool. If you have a dad bod, cool. If you’re pudgy, love it! Everybody’s happy with it. You know why? Because girls are nice. They don’t give a fuck because we see people for who they are!”

I am like a huge fan of Starfield, and really enjoyed it, but even I think the others were just extremely strong in comparison, this year was packed with amazing games!

If Starfield were not an Xbox exclusive, it would not be so divisive. 99% of the conversation about the game is console war nonsense, pro and con.

What, there’s no category for ‘game that managed to completely meet everyone’s expectations both positive and negative?’ No award for ‘game that contained not a single surprise’? Voted number one in the category of ‘sure is the kind of game you’d expect this company to make in 2023 without any internal shakeups or

I so rarely open Netflix on my phone but you are right. It’s right there. I take back my comment.

There isn’t even a central app that shows all the “Netflix” games out there.
