I thought Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson were both outstanding. Particularly Foggy. I didn’t like the Electra actress much but she was better than Jennifer Garner.

Woll really connected with Bernthal’s Punisher too, in a way that reflected a thoughtful evolution of a character and their response to trauma. Underserved female characters are a real weakness in a lot of superhero/comics stories, so for me it was a breath of fresh air to see the complexity of Karen’s story treated…

The movie manages to be simultaneously anchored to the exact time it was made (DFENS being a defense contractor who just lost his job due to the end of the Cold War) and more relevant than ever (pathetic middle-aged white guy snapping and going on an increasingly violent rampage).

The World’s End is so underappreciated.
