I had a similar discussion recently on a similar thread. People are afraid to drive unreliable cars great distances because the financial implications of a breakdown when you’re thousands (or even hundreds) of miles from home are pretty significant, and many people live paycheck to paycheck.

Someone made the argument (and I posted a link on Oppo months ago) that wearing a mask everywhere helps normalize the behavior and reduce the abuse directed at the people who chose to wear them early on.

I’m sure. I spotted one for sale outside a VW shop and was sure the comma was in the wrong place. It was 12k, but that was 3-4 years ago, and I’d bet things are worse now.

The speedometer goes up to 60; I can’t help but think that you can get some easier heel-toe action going while standing and really put it through its paces.

I can tell you this caught some attention at a local farmers market, at least from me.

Given how many people live one paycheck away from disaster, you can’t separate the cost of the consequences from the amount of stress people experience when contemplating these things.

Taking every precaution to see your spouse, except the ultimate one of going without seeing your spouse for a year or longer, is a little selfish, but I’d wager the vast majority of us have been far more selfish than that at some point during this pandemic.

Yeah, I just want it as a fun convertible, not interested in modding one. Aesthetically I prefer it to any Miata, but a Miata would be so much cheaper.

I’m rather fond of that era. Vastly preferable to today’s “sorry, you tapped another car while parking and now owe $5k to fix your bumper” cars.
