This is a hilarious instance to get upset about what you’re claiming though. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is already a deliberate attack on the straight white male protagonist. Scott Pilgrim is not a likable character (that was a big part of why I had mixed feelings about the movie). The point is that he’s a selfish

Nah, it was actually great, and a majority of the criticism comes from people who can’t process stories they don’t immediately relate to.

Is your argument that unless you can talk about all problematic things you can’t talk about one problematic thing without it seeming odd that you’re not talking about all the other problematic things?

Users of free apps are some of the most demanding buttholes out there. That’s why, even for hobby projects, it makes sense to charge something for it. It filters out most of those buttholes.

Their failure is because they didn’t run old COPS, Cheaters and Star Trek episodes

Added accessibility is a pretty low justification to actually buy this thing, but I agree with the sentiment that it should be included in modern games. Still, unless you’ve managed to avoid buying/playing the original over the past decade, it’s a hard case to argue paying for it again (or a third time for some people)

If not for sensitivity, then for character variation. Why not use all options, including darker skintones when designing characters, when designing a character? It’s right there and available? It’s so weird to opt to have all/most characters have lighter skin colors.

YES. YES. HELL YEAH. YES. HELL. YEAH. YES. MASTERWORKS ALL, CANT GO WRONG. YES.

Personal take, it costs nothing to put in a spoiler warning for a major plot point that isn’t common knowledge like Rosebud, Aerith dies, Luke’s daddy, etc. It’s not just about time, it’s about widespread knowledge too, and Harchefant’s death isn’t well-known outside the FFXIV community.

This story is just a reminder that it’s best to think of this as Putin’s war, not Russia’s war. Because there are a lot of Russians (particularly the young) who don’t share Putin’s worldview.

Since when has Nintendo released a war game set in the modern ear which rages war against brown people? If Blue Moon was not so obvious Russia and the game did not start with them invading another country, then maybe your complaint would have some merit. But Advance Wars is a direct parallel to current events.

...or you could ignore all of it, just focus on the main story quests, and finish the game in like 15-20 hours. Or literally any combination of the two. Play it how you want, and at your own speed.

On the contrary. Nintendo’s preservation is second to none in the gaming industry. Developers actually go to them for source code for the developer’s own games... because Nintendo actually has the foresight to keep that shit when most companies don’t bother.

None of that power on screen came for free, none of it.

If your gut reaction to this is to get defensive (like many people in the twitter replies) then it might be time to start examining your personal bias.

I was legitimately surprised by today’s game. To the point where this is the first free EGS game I’ve ever claimed and downloaded to play immediately.

the Ubisoft co-founder said the backlash to the Quartz announcement was expected, and likened it to initial public outcry over previous new developments in the games industry like DLC, microtransactions, and loot boxes.

I think it’s funnier you can’t be assed to Google image search the actress to realize it’s pretty much just modelled off of her before you go off on some judgmental bullshit.

describing Balinska’s mannerisms during her motion capture performance as having a “very hip-hoppy kind of walk.”
