Plex over Roku is pretty slick, and one of the reasons I still have a Roku attached to my “smart” TVs. Onliest gripe is I’m collecting a mountain of physical/virtual remotes, and that’s led to Mrs. Starmaster watching a lot of over-the-air tube.

Plex works wonderfully on all versions of the Roku. Kodi will not. The only caveat with Plex is that you won’t get Atmos or DTS:X support.

there isn’t a kodi ‘channel’ for it, if that’s what you’re after. there is plex, however, which was a fork of kodi many moons back, and that works pretty well through my roku 2 (the second gen one). if you don’t need/want 4k, the 2nd gen roku is an excellent bit of kit, and they’ll be cheap as chips now these ones…
