The helicopter parenting is something I don’t get. When I was a kid, I used to run around the neighborhood. Sometimes my mother wouldn’t know where I went, but she knew all of the neighbor’s phone numbers and called each one until she found where I was. People just don’t have that sense of community these days. (Born

I look back on the things I loved to do as a child (watch Spaceballs for the umpteenth time) and I realize how much my parents suffered through my entertainment preferences.

The girl in Columbine who was asked if she believed in God wasn’t even one of the ones killed (she was shot but survived). Cassie Bernall - who is the person linked to this story- was silently praying under one of the library tables, one of the killers said “peek-a-boo” then shot her in the head. She was never asked

His own profile says he’s non-religious but spiritual. That doesn’t really sound like an atheist to me. But yeah, now we have that #ImaChristian hashtag and people are using this to further their “Christian persecution” narrative.

You do know that one Columbine witness claimed they were targeting Christians and it turned out to be false, right?

I think Jesus will forgive you for denying him. Peter was forgiven.

I heard that rumor. It’s like that story from Columbine where one of the shooters asked a girl if she was Christian before killing her. It sounds like this guy was playing with them before killing them.

neighbors remember his son as a gun enthusiast who enjoyed going to shooting ranges with his mother.

How long it will be before Wayne LaPierre goes on TV and says, “This never would have happened if UCC faculty and students were armed?”

If you are upset, do something. Support any of these organizations trying to make our country less like a kill or be killed video game.

It is always men. I think I researched this last time and found a mere 1% occurrence of women being a/or one of perpetrators in a mass shooting, but can’t quite remember the details.

Entitlement.

this is my first thought upon reading about any mass shooting—why aren’t we talking more about the fact that they are almost always men who do this? surely this is critical in understanding how these shootings happen and how to prevent them from happening, is it not?

First thought (and truth):

The tree of liberty is mighty thirsty.

i work at a community college in texas, and starting next Fall (in August) students will be able to bring concealed guns onto campus. i am not excited, i am not happy, i am scared. this shit is insane and very real.

Sometimes the tree of American exceptionalism must be watered with the blood of innocents.

Shhhhhh nothing to see here nothing to see. LOOK, is that Trump talking?! Or here! We have some Clinton emails! Or god look over THERE! ABORTIONS ARE HAPPENING! Look anywhere but here!

Well, what if the walls themselves had guns? this could all be averted if we start arming inanimate objects, people!
