Speaking as a volunteer counselor who has worked for PP for years: I know of and have spoken to many prolife women who have decided to have abortions (or use IVF) because “well, this is different... God will understand.” This is common. I cannot and will not out them though because it would violate medical ethics, and…
No, I promise you that would not be good enough. I have family that are in this camp, and even if they said they totally fabricated everything, they would still vote to defund Planned Parenthood. Which is fine, just as soon as YOUR side starts offering comprehensive gynecological care to include mammograms, pap…
I swear I used to be roomates with one of those women in that article. She had three abortions and absolutely hated Planned Parenthood saying it was a “murder factory”. She was also fucking nuts. Like Christian certifiable who thought water and gas was free because “God made it”.
I had this same experience when going into to do a pregnancy test to confirm .I had just gotten off the phone with my emotionally abusive bf screaming at me to “take care of it”. The nurse asked me in the calmest, least judgmental tone i have ever heard asked if wanted to go over options and discussed everything with…
That’s awesome. I’m a rape survivor and a PP clinic was the place I chose for my first gyno visit and I had NEVER expected to have such an empathetic, patient and kind person doing my pelvic exam. She was fabulous and completely understood when I needed to take extra time, or felt nervous to ask a question.
I’m not looking at the pending replies because I am lazy, so someone might have said this already, but the places most likely to have fervent protestors outside clinics might also be the places where the fewest clinics available for women to visit. The protesters have no choice (ha! sadface).
Very well put. Fighting fire with fire just burns down everyone’s houses. Standing up for what is right, all the way around, is the very definition of integrity.
If you can and if you haven’t already, please make a donation. If they lose federal funding, that donation will matter a great deal. Even if it’s enough to buy a postage stamp, that postage stamp could go on a million dollar annual donation renewal reminder letter.
I do suspect that other patients aren’t bound by HIPAA, though. Not that you’re privy to anyone’s exact details, but in my experience (along with most others I’ve heard of)post-abortion you’re all piled into the same room together. Were I to have recognized some loudmouth right to lifer in there, yes it would have…
Why on earth are they going to the same clinics they protest outside of? I'm too embarrassed to go into a store if I've had an uncomfortable interaction with a staff member.
I would agree but this shit
I lived in Wichita during the “Summer of “Mercy””. Place was packed cheek to jowl with the assholes which, if you boil it down, want no abortions for anyone but themselves/their daughters.
I’m curious, why don’t more people who are not bound by confidentiality out these women? I mean if they are seen outside clinics on the regular and then suddenly getting an abortion, what is stopping volunteers from outing them?
Wow - that was some upbringing! I never thought to have paired Baptists and Herbalists in the same grouping. At least they took you to a doctor with the broken bones; that would have been a bitch if they were rubbing mint on a compound fracture, hoping it would get better.
That’s amazing and very illuminating.
NO! That is not how the Fifth Amendment works.
That lie was DISGUSTING. And fuck the moderator & “fact checkers” for not calling that bullshit out right away. I know they’re doing it for ratings & didn’t want to seem too anti-republican (read honest/intelligent) by bringing up the bullshit they said but that went waaaaay too far. The media would rather give these…
If you haven’t read the NAF’s lawsuit, you should. It details all the horrible lying (which, by the way, is a direct violation of the 10 Commandments so not exactly Christian) that the CMP did to get their footage, you should. NAF is even suing them for racketeering violations under RICO because they used multiple…
