Also, why do people think that they’re going to be happy with someone with whom they’ll have zero emotional/intellectual connection with?
Also, why do people think that they’re going to be happy with someone with whom they’ll have zero emotional/intellectual connection with? You want to be with someone who’s at least as capable as you are.
I’ve had this problem over and over with one friend of mine.
As a teenager I loved it but by the time I hit my twenties I realized what a shitty friend Carrie was; always ditching her friends to meet up with Big or some other annoying guy. And she was so embarrassingly bad with money for someone in their 30's that it was actually offensive.
I had an ex in my early 20's who was much older than me, and I kept in touch with him a bit, until he became to toxic. He, in his mid 30's, would focus on women in their early 20's, and given that he was not conventionally attracive and emotionally kind of a mess, he never made much headway. When I gently suggested he…
I rewatched some SATC episodes over the holidays and the show has not aged well. But I never liked the Big character to start with. Not my cup of tea.
Or perhaps more women have business ideas that line up with traditional roles.
I think the actual percentage of genuinely innovative or good ideas is pretty low on shark tank for either gender. The casting directors are therefore looking for what will be entertaining to their audience. That they tend to choose women that have business ideas that are fulfilling traditional gender roles seems…
That bugged the shit out of me too. And the “social cause marketing” crap where they sold tshirts with art by third world people and donated a $4 backpack in exchange. Fucking exploitative at both ends. As for the female bias: Jez, call me when you have an actual news story. I have eyeballs.
In the case of Shark Tank, I am guessing it has a lot to do with the women appearing on Shark Tank having businesses based around sweets (no bakery is worth investing in unless your own) or children’s clothing. Unfortunately, it is more common for men on the show to have more innovative ideas. They typically have more…
I once told someon who was 20+ years older than that I couldn’t date because I was looking for a relationship with someone close to my age with whom I could potentially start a family. Oh my God, the wounded entitled rage! He proceeded to barrage me with emails about how he could impregnate me well into old age. But I…
THIS. The whole article is a veiled tantrum about 25 year old women not being interested in them anymore. If they cared so much about having a family they could marry a woman their age, take all the money they earned focusing on career, and use alternative avenues for creating a family
‘When I consider someone to marry, I have to find someone young enough to have children,” he says. “And the age difference...”
Never mind that your sperm are going to be a problem too, buddy. The male biological clock ticks along too, even if it's less obvious.
Reproductive health certainly declines for men too, even if they don’t go through a grand shutting-down of the facilities. Genetic quality of sperm decreases with age, and may be a risk factor for various genetic disorders, miscarriage, etc.
This is another example of how a sense of entitlement can embitter people. Just because you decide you WANT a family at a certain age doesn’t mean you’re going to automatically get one.
So ugh.
His movies usually have multiple women and lots of dialog, quite a few have a female lead/s. So he doesn’t seem that surprising to me.
we were pro-life and pro-traditional family values
