Yeah. Sadly, a lot of men think this way. You’ve had sex with him before; therefore, you’ll have sex with him again. You’ve had sex with anyone before; therefore, you’ll have with him. Basically, not a virgin = consented to sex with any man, whenever any man wants it.

Typical. “Well, she consented to have sex with THAT guy, so we thought....”

Harrison Ford is quite possibly the sexiest 72 year old man of all time. Also, my parents saw Age of Adaline and enjoyed it; I’m just really conflicted because I dislike Blake Lively almost as much as I love Harrison Ford so I’m at a break even about my desire to watch it.

I just feel like kids born now or even in the late 90s have nothing in common with late 80s, early 90s babies. They didn't go through the same technological boom that I went through and they will never understand.

yes, high-waisted jeans happened...I was there, I was one of them...

GenXers tend to be the ones who are more nostalgic about the 80s. Us older Millenials were kids/high schoolers in the 90s, and I think we’re the most nostalgic about that decade. Life was pretty great as a kid/teen in the 90s. We still had landline phones, MTV’s TRL every afternoon, and social media had not yet been

I don’t have any particular feelings about her one way or the other, but I could only listen to about 30 seconds of this song. Because it is terrible.

Oh. I’m 1984. 82-84 is a strange cusp that has 3 possibilities depending on the group doing the defining.

It is way over broad. I’m 30, and sometimes have trouble connecting with friends even a few years younger than me. My 27 year old brother and I had very different experiences with the 90s.

Eh? That’s kind of a broad stroke. I’m a millennial and it makes me nostalgic AF. Granted, I’m 30 so a little closer to the generational divide, but still.

Also, they looked like adults, not children sneaking into a hooker’s closet.

they don’t look like they are ready to enter an in-patient eating disorders clinic?

The supes did have pretty distinct personalities but I think they weren’t actresses, they were there to model clothes and basta, so you could project onto them a bit. I think kind of the way kids project onto Barbie, although these guys were more than just Barbie. I don’t know if I articulated myself well enough!

Yup. It’s all about the direction, not the girls themselves. When designers wanted models like these, they got them—and now, for whatever reason, designers prefer girls who have less personality.

I also have trouble believing that unlike these women who were top models 20+ years ago, anyone will remember or know who the current “top models” are. That’s another big difference. These women became stars in a way that cemented their place in pop and celebrity culture IMO, in a way that has lasted.

OH WOW the girls in that Turlington does Versace video are so amazing! I am always struck by the uniformity of their proportions; particularly when a non-model (the designer) joins them on the catwalk. All cast from the same mold! And their heads – their tiny little heads!

Because they look like women, as opposed to little skeletal girls. Gorgeous, glamorous, iconic, chic, old hollywood, women -as was the trend at the time.

It blows my mind how curvaceous the Supes look compared to current models. I do like the gender blurring, androgeny going on today but we can have butts and strutting too.

So obviously these women were/are incredibly thin but i miss the days of more fit and less skeletal models.
