A Tesla with a non-vanity plate.

A little slow on the draw don’t ya think? They’ve been racing all day and only with an hour before the leader crosses the finish line y’all post this?

I remember when the diesel GM twins came out. After years and years on the Tacoma forums with the endless - needs a diesel/wish it had a diesel - comments. Some thought that the diesel option would push a lot of people to make the switch. But that really hasn’t happened. Of the handful of Colorados in the work lot

People have quickly forgotten about chevy pulling that reliability ad last month. Some people have lower expectations i suppose.

Ill respond to your anecdote, with an anecdote. I have had the same experience with Dodge and Pontiacs of the late 90's. Hit 200k and felt ever bit of it. Electrical gremlins, heater/ac failing, but the drivetrain kept going. Now im in a 4Runner tipping the 300k mark and everything works. No squeaks, rattles, smells,

I’ll side with you if they could overhaul it and make it the exact same as the first generation Tacoma’s, I am all with ya! Jokes aside, clearly they are doing something right. Look at the sales numbers. There are lots of happy owners out there. Me included.

The motor is fine. It is the flywheel and gearing that is playing against it.

15 years old? 2019-2016 = 3 years old....

We have a winner! Well put. I don’t understand the hate for the 3.5. Compared to my old 3.4's, when i drive my wife’s 17 Tacoma it feels like a rocket. Having three pedals i think saved us from a lot of the negative experiences though.

I don’t believe they ever cam from the factory supercharged. But they did have it as an OEM dealer add on. That has been absent for many years and I’m not aware of any other trucks on the market with that available today besides maybe the Frontier, but does that even exist still?

Woah!? This is news? Only a blurb on the GM and Toyota joint venture!?

What mechanical changes were you expecting?

We had the 6spd/1.4l FWD one and dammit if i didnt like that little car. Practical and was fun to drive and quirky as hell. What other CUV can you get that has a turbo, 6spd, and a removable roof? We ended up selling it and my BRZ to upgrade to a new Tacoma.

I cant count how many times I’ve reached down in my wife’s Tacoma to adjust the climate control and about pop it into 4x4 by mistake. Stupid location for that switch.

Historically, some Toyota models just have long life cycles of about ten years with aesthetics updates every few years. When the recipe works, why change it for the sake of change?

Ask David Tracy, there’s always smoke/steam following Jeeps.

Because it fits in the garage and parking spaces

More truck than most people/families need. Good choice an welcome to the cult!

The only hole in the mechanical failure i see is there would’ve been obvious signs of braking as a natural reaction as soon as steering was lost, especially with a truck barreling down. because of the snow, and the slope of the road for the corner, I would expect to see it start to skid before impact if he hit the
