More reliable, that is easy to argue. Chevy pulled their add last time they tried to make that claim against Toyota.

I have an 01 Tacoma and a 99 4Runner. one made in CA and one Japan. While there are some differences, generally they very subtle. We have not had any major issues with our ‘17 built in TX other than having the clutch pedal assembly replaced for a noise bushing. I’m a Fanboi through and through. One piece of advice for

We will have to wait until they release the pricing to even know if they are apples to apples.

Some people are able to look past the numbers on a piece of paper and buy something with, higher quality, reliability and with three pedals. It isn’t riding the coattails when your product is still the best in its class by a long shot.

Toyota has never made a fuel efficient truck, but they offer the most reliable trucks, available with a manual transmission, that fits in a normal size garage and can fit down a forest service road without scraping every tree along the way. There are other selling points than many Tacoma owners find more valuable than

AAAAAND you can get it with the 6speed!!

The marketing and hype of Jeeps and their cool looks and promise of adventure finally got my wife into a dealership to test drive a 6spd Rubicon a couple years ago.Driving one however was such a let down. Toyota’s offerings are much better buys to live with everyday.

Guilty here.

Ive done the full N-S length of Nevada before and that was getting a bit long. 4 hours just seems like a hop and a skip away!

For a 4 hour drive? What’s so tough about that?

99-02 which is a later third gen 4Runner. Biggest thing to look out for is the Timing Belt & Water Pump service and having the ball joints replaced every 100k. Do that and it’ll keep rolling for a looong time!

Hell ya! 280k on mine and it still going strong!

What Supra had a V6?

You can lead a horse to water....

you have clearly never experienced the cool breeze that cracking the sunroof and cracking the rear hatch window on a 4runner provides. Its heavenly.

But then we wouldn’t get the repetitive stories about how his jeep broke down again and again and again and again. Be careful what you wish for.

Some of those are more external combustion...

Heated garage here as well. I could never go back to a non-heated garage. Only thing it is missing is a drain so i could wash my vehicles in there during the winter slog.

Its a truck, leave it outside, don’t wash it, be a man and scrape the windows in the winter, never change the oil, let your dog give birth on the floorboards, let it get dents cuz its a TRUUUUUUCK

Exactly my thoughts. It may take a few years but the cars value is sure to continue to climb with it being preserved in the show room. Not to mention that it might entice people into the dealership to see this time capsule and some percentage will walk away in a new Toyota.
