They key is to do a trip a year to somewhere new so in your lifetime you can piece together much of the area. We make it a habit of going there every spring, even if it is only for a weekend. Its only 9hrs away so why not?
Ah i can see that. Comes back to the not outrunning your sight-lines and understanding how hard it is to stop on gravel and washboard. There have been several rollovers lately over the ridge in the Saline valley for similar reasons from what i understand. I did think about it and this was the only tight turn i could…
It is certainly a place to come prepared. I don’t recall that specific turn but i think it goes without saying, don’t out-drive your line of site and braking distance.
Fun Fact: 25mph will beat you up on that road. crank it up to 50mph and the road really smooths out ;)
I took that same route through Tonopah from Idaho on my way to Death Valley this New Years. It is no joke how remote that area is. Beautiful drive though. Sorry you have that dark cloud hanging over your head with that place.
A good friend and i are pretty well involved in the Toyota community especially in the offroad and trucks area. My friend had been talking to a guy from Georgia who was asking a lot about wheeling in Moab, what trails to hit, and what to see and expect as he planned to visit the area in the coming months. He helped…
Where can one find such decal. Asking for a friend of course.
Shit, the lot lizards usually com to you after you park up at the Flyin’ J. Not need to call them.
Guilty. Strap in for the high speed stuff. Unbelt for the <25mph stuff.
Surprised this wasnt said earlier. 4lo, first gear down a steep decent is a breeze. No burning up brakes down long grades either.
They are sold independent at Harbor Freight. They work alright although they don’t match the shape of the jack well. Once they get sandwiched between the car your lifting and the jack, they aren’t going anywhere.
There is a UTV class at hammers already... That would be awesome to see these in it!
I want to believe that its based on math and sciences, but in some places it is the math of revenue that seems to rule some speed limits. Where i grew up, the implement artificially low speed limits. For example, one stretch of highway 95 is divided by a median, wide shoulders on either side and two lanes in either…
Is that because you have the headlights in ‘auto’?
Also its great time to inspect the underside of your vehicle since you’re already under it.
Find a storefront with glass windows in front. Checking your brake lights does not require 2 people.
Recall has ended and not available in all states IIRC
I run E rated and have friends running C rated with about the same amount of failure rates between them. E is only thing available in the 275/70/17 i run (same size you mention diameter wise, just with a 17" wheel) 18" is not leaving you with a ton of sidewall.
Their shoulders are weaker than other tires in that segment from what ive seen so no harm done. Im happy with the BFG’s although, they too are far from hole-proof.
