I wouldn’t even lock it out at the start. If somebody wants to burn it up trying to get a big jump at the start, then so be it, they will potentially suffer the consequences at the end of the race but that’s their choice.

Not just VWs, the Audi (I know they’re cousins and share platforms) peeps put VRs with a big turbo in the B5 and B6 A/S4s. Their are claims of 1000hp in some of them. It’s a great engine for boost.
