True true.
True true.
And thus ends the longest and most ambitious Wish ever granted by the Make a Wish Foundation.
Honestly, the CGI in this could be at South Park levels and I wouldn’t care. You’ve got my favourite Marvel character and one of the best actresses working right now. I’m all over this.
I’m sorry, this is a show about vampires and witches and zombies. Why would a show like that have a normal human man, albeit one so charming and amazing as Jackie Daytona?
If you need your supernatural WWDITS fix before the season comes out, I highly recommend “Wellington Paranormal” on the CW (in the US). It’s made by the same folks and basically a really fun take-off on COPS. Great dry humor and worth checking out. You can watch it free on the CW website or app.
Lalo was in fact giving serious thought to eating Werner’s wife.
For all of it’s immeasurable faults, RoS was a gorgeous movie. All of the art departments, et designers, lighting crew etc absolutely killed it. It is one of the best looking worst movies of all time.
Look, if my personality isn’t the sum of the media I consume, why am I consuming that media?
The Blue Bunny tester was amazing, but she also shared some DNA with some of Heidi’s other weirdos (eg the deep quoter and James Franco’s cousin Mandy.)
I wish Kate and Cecily would retire from SNL already. I love them both so much, but with each season I see my affection waning.
Surprised no one has mentioned the Not-A-Perfect-Person-but-a-Perfect-Mom sketch. Easily the best of the night; the intergenerational hypocrisy was outrageously funny, even to McKinnon’s grandma screaming at David Bowie to take her panties. ‘You blew my roommate/I thought it was you!” was definitely the spit out your…
I actually really liked this week. The Chuck-E-Cheese sketch felt partially written by the “Podcast: The Ride” boys with the amount of knowledge it had about the Chuck-E-Cheese band members. And man could Benedict belt out that falsetto.
I just wanted to post a Cecily Strong appreciation post as the more time she’s been in this show, the funnier she gets. It’s a shame the show never used her as well as they are now because she’s just great
No mention of Heidi Gardner’s wonderful work in the Blue Bunny sketch.
First Evan Rachel Wood makes all of those accusations against the guy who played Paul, and now this. I never thought I’d have to say this, but maybe Wayne was right all along. Maybe they really were buttheads.
1894 with Fred Ott’s Sneeze. It’s amazing! You actually see a guy sneeze! The pictures move! And it doesn’t go overlong. At a lean 5 seconds, it’s a testament to good editing.
Been doing some sci-fi rewatches with my older son and I think Wrath of Khan may be the best sci-fi franchise movie ever made. I will always love Star Wars but Wrath of Khan elevates not only its own roots but the genre as a whole. Its also a master course in making sci-fi on reasonable budget. I like Star Trek: The…
1982 is usually my pick for greatest year of movies (at least in the ones I want to see). 1999 is also really up there.
“Legislating the placement of hands, to my mind, is ludicrous. It undermines instinct and spontaneity.”
This is my final feature for The A.V. Club. Thank you all for reading my music writing. It's been such a joy to give the music section the love it deserves.
