Actually, according to MLB, that isn’t how catch probability is calculated (https://www.mlb.com/news/statcast-introduces-catch-probability-for-2017/c-217802340). It’s based on hang time of the ball and distance of the outfielder from the ball, so it would take into account where JBJ was shaded toward....
