That mummy doesn’t look at all like a mummy. It looks like a young woman wearing a cheap “sexy mummy” Halloween costume.

Not sure what you’re getting at. It may be a reference to the original Universal monster films:
Shipping goods likely increases wear and tear on infrastructure, especially what with all the trucks driving into low overpasses. So it seems fair for shipping to pay its fair share.
I like the idea of a carbon tax with rebate. Collect the carbon taxes, then give back everyone a share of the total collected taxes based on equal division, not the amount paid in. That way, if you don’t use much carbon, you’ll probably get back more than you paid in. If you do use a lot of carbon, you’ll pay more…
Presumably the covered portion is the most problematic portion closest to the melted down Reactor #4. Other parts of the facility, like other undamaged reactors maybe, or power generation equipment, might not have been as contaminated. One reactor was still operating and generating electricity until 2000.
I noticed some equipment with Mammoet signs on them. They’re a Dutch firm that does lifting and moving of heavy things. They have some stuff on their website about their Chernobyl work. They also participated in lifting the sunken Russian submarine Kursk.
Maybe the mine owner is a serial killer. Hitches a ride, kills the driver, drives the car into the mineshaft to hide it.
Right? Or “Can’t it wait until the parent-teacher conferences are over?”

Cougar:
I’m inclined to suspect the “boyfriend” prefers her in this state so that he can leech off her income.
And the people trying to “cure autism” by making the kid drink bleach and giving bleach enemas.
I wonder what kind of help Vivian Kubrick wants her to get with the money raised. Kubrick is a Scientologist, so probably wouldn’t support Duvall getting psychiatric help.
Given her age, I wonder if she’s not getting enough B12. If she needs it injected, given her mental state she might not trust that it’s really B12 being injected.
I didn’t. Others are speculating that the news station mixed up km/hr for miles/hr, putting an mph unit with a kph number making the speed look much higher. It seems odd to me that a km per hour figure would have been mentioned by anyone in Oklahoma. The police report would probably use mph, not km per hour, and…
But why would kilometers be used by anyone in Oklahoma?
Different culture has different culture. Shock, horror.
Apparently the guy has never watched a daytime soap. They’re ALL ABOUT conflict, just not so much played for laughs.
This also appears to have been flying well offshore over Lake Ontario.
