Right, my point is that I don’t understand using their age and decline in skills as the crux of your shit-talking. Everyone sucks at the end of their careers, schadenfreude in this instance is extremely petty. Hate Kobe for being a massive jerk his entire career and disliked by nearly anyone not a Lakers fan, but if

Exactly, and the Lakers have no issue with it, so who cares? The younger guys (aside from Swaggy P, but whatever) aren’t being affected because of Kobe, any negative impact on them is on the shoulders of Byron Scott and the front office.

My criticism is really of the article itself. What is the point of trying to tear down a player past his prime for having a bad season? Kobe has been a very intense competitor (and a huge dick) for his whole career, but the Lakers obviously aren’t trying to compete and are letting him play out his last season the way

I don’t have anything personally against Ley, but I’ll never understand shitting on a player for being old just because you didn’t like that person when he was younger. There’s nothing of value in the article, which maybe shouldn’t be my expectation from Deadspin, but honestly many of their articles are at least

Yeah haha what a piece of shit for playing out his contract and choosing to go out as he wants after bringing tons of success to his franchise. /s

Two things that seem worth noting on this:
1) Paige did an amazing job moving his feet to get set for this shot, even if he ultimately had to double-clutch and fire it around a charging defender, he put himself in excellent position to do so.
2) He probably shouldn’t have been taking a shot in that position with 6.5

Coach K is actually pretty well known for getting on his guys for celebrating too much or being too demonstrative during games. That said, it’s probably more because he doesn’t want them to lose focus on the game rather than taking issue with them crossing lines of propriety.

Delly mugging Steph the entire series *may* have played a slight role in them staying competitive too.

The tripping is bullshit, but I can’t really fault the kid for picking up a questionable fifth foul (after a questionable fourth foul) and complaining to the refs who had been all over the place the entire game.

I believe Lillard finished the game with 30 points, not 31. Either that or his weekend total is 82.
