I get your point of view just fine actually. You feel the need to apply a sexist label to anything involving women getting paid based at least partially on their appearance.
It’s just that I’m just not that simple minded or naive.

- No shit. Still, it’s not casting women in the sport in a positive light, is it?
- Counter point: Personal Choice. The most egalitarian countries on earth have higher gender disparities in their STEM fields but in industry and education, not lower. The gender disparities in STEM have increased despite extremely…
I mean, he could be?
(fair point by the way. Sorry for the misunderstanding)
Whats sexist about empowered, confident women taking ownership of their bodies and using it as a means of making a living?
And what does this have to do with stereotypes?
Geez you sound like you took an introduction to Women’s Studies course and barely passed.
Does motorsports have a shit ton of male gatekeepers? Who? Where are they? How are they stopping talented women and girls from competing? Give me examples.
Lewis Hamilton was signed on under McLaren’s Young Driver’s program at twelve years old. Twelve. There are plenty of seemingly talented 12 year old girls competing…
Only the sith deal in absolutes
Who said anything about sexism? Why are grid girls inherently sexist?
Women are free to do what they want with their bodies. Part of that is being free to use it to promote things if they so choose. Of course I value people on more than their appearance, but that does not change the fact that appearance has value.
I frankly have no idea, and to be clear, it very well could be. I just don’t necessarily see this as an obvious step towards more viewership and sponsors.
What are you basing this off of? There are terrible women drivers that get seat after seat after seat with no results on no other basis than because they are women. see Carmen Jorda.
So, how can women like Carmen Jorda get seat after seat after seat, but these apparently super talented women can’t seem to ever get the…
pst! Hey! There’s this thing called the “fashion industry” and the “cosmetics industry” that thrives on little more than women trying to add as much “value to their bodies” as they can.
Women are free to do with their bodies what they want. Why do you have a problem with them using it to make money?
And I say this as…
And now they just have Claire Williams, managing an F1 team that has slowly and steadily turned itself from one of the most respected teams in F1 into a back marker whose more concerned about how much their drivers are paying them for their seats.
And it doesn’t appear this is changing any time soon. Engineering is…
But one the flip side, there is probably a non-zero number of fans who watch because Grid Girls are in their top five reasons they are fans.
So it stands to reason to wonder if this could actually harm viewership.
Personally, I really don’t care if F1 has them or not. I probably wouldn’t even notice they were missing…
Why is everyone claiming this game would be $60 on its own if sold without cardboard. We don’t actually know that yet.
And then there’s the other side of it: “I don’t find this to be an issue therefore nobody should”
So this meme is racist because it quotes a movie made in Africa? Am I getting that right?
So now wearing a jersey is effectively cosplaying? Something tells me the guy wasn’t wearing a helmet and tiger stripe tights with that jersey.
Of all the places I never thought I’d see a reference to Newfoundland, it’d be the Root.
It’s an interesting place. Please go visit and prepare for a culture shock. It’s full of incredibly kind, friendly and genuinely naive folk who operate at their own pace.
This is completely nonsensical. If MGSV didn’t impress you, there’s a zero precent chance this is more fun to you. It’s the same mechanics in a much blander gameplay mode.
Konami should really, really pay their shills to be less obvious.
