Thank you for the kind words.

I’m a former developer. I wish more people echoed your sentiments. It would have made the long hours and terrible pay more worth it if more people expressed your point of view,

It really, really, really isn’t. No one goes through the bullshit of making video games for the money, because for 99% of game developers, they take a pay cut and work longer hours to make video games. You’re confusing video game execs, the people who set budgets, the people who negotiate advertising and project

I can tell you first hand. It feels like the total opposite of what Cory Barlog is expressing. It crushes your soul.

Because Japanese whiskey is fucking awesome.

What if you took a better than average Donkey Kong player and gave him the ability to save the game in the middle of the run, and seemlessly replay it as if nothing ever happened?

Are you seeing a problem?

How do you know those scores were valid? How do you know he didn’t cheat in different ways that people haven’t yet discovered?

Why? People put hundreds of man hours, and bought hundreds of dollars of equipment trying to replicate what Billy Mitchell claimed he did when he set these high scores because Mitchell couldn’t have done the right thing and admitted that he cheated when he was caught.

Every single score Mitchell would have submitted

I take it you don’t have kids?

The punishment isn’t harsh at all. Not only did he cheat, he had others lie on his behalf, and continued to lead the Twin Galaxies team on a wild goose chase trying to reproduce something that never happened. He never admitted guilt, he never apologized, he never once tried to do the right thing or right the wrong

For the better. There’s no excuse for falsifying a high score. Once you have been demonstrated to do that, all of your credibility is gone and your previous work obviously falls into question.

So by “Switch-like” you actually mean “PSP Go-like” right? Sony’s already put out a dockable handheld that allows you to use standard game controllers while in docked mode.

It’s pretty simple to put an end to this quickly. An unsafe pit release results in a black flag for both of a team’s cars. I think they probably would have taken a bit more time, crossed their t’s and dotted their i’s if their mistake not only took Raikkonen out the race, but race leader Vettel as well.

If Mercedes pulls out, Renault and Honda are probably going with them because they’re all in it for the same reasons.

But then you have Red Bull, who tried to argue that it was fair to spend the vast majority of their budget on areo, and then force Mercedes to sell them their engines they spent the vast majority of their budget developing to them for pennies on the dollar.

If there is going to be budgets introduced into F1 engine

Because “road relevance” means the technology developed in F1 can be adapted to road cars somewhere down the line. Why is this important? Because that’s a core reason why Mercedes, Renault, and Honda participate in F1. F1 becomes a fun, challenging research and development exercise. Without it, it’s hard to justify

They do choose to be drivers. There are many successful female drivers around the world. They might not be close to good enough to compete respectably in an F1 car, but many represent themselves very well in lower series.

Why is the job a problem? Do you think any person hired to promote any type of event is a problem?

today I learned that for some people, seeing women in dresses at a public event is the same as having a corporate event at a strip club.

You do realize you’re equating this with watching people stripping naked in a sexual way.

Do you know what that number is, or are you just assuming that it must be higher than zero because obviously these guys at Rockstar North must be sexist scumbags?

Former game developer here. Most of the senior positions require years if not decades of expertise, and require a willingness to work 60-80 hours a week, sometimes for literally days straight and sleeping in the office in order to get the job done. There is an extremely high turn over rate in the game industry in no
