If the American OEMs don’t disrupt themselves and stop depending on a premiumization strategy with high margins, then BYD or Tata or similar will be doing the disruption.

Don’t worry, apparently there is a guy out there who swapped a Ford Coyote into a C6 ZR1 to make up for the LS Mustangs. 🤮
Honestly, the only cars I’m sick of seeing at car shows are the guys who park their 2018 Nissan Sentra in the lot that’s reserved for show cars ebcause they didn’t realize a car show was going on.
I work for a California government agency, and we had to start going into the office 2 days a week back in May. Now I’m back in the traffic, wasting 2 hours a day commuting. The stupid part is they’re ignoring the fact that a lot of us have ZERO reason to be in the office at all. I work in IT infrastructure…
There’s a bigger factor.
I... have been saying for years, especially after they killed all their other cars, that a 4-door Mustang:
- Should exist
- Would make heaps of money
I’d consider one, especially with a wacky baja kit. Probably would ride like a couch.
That’s pretty impressive with a 9mm pistol and a moving target at 75 feet.
I prefer polished or brushed aluminum anyways. On of the big problems with chrome rims is the chrome can oxidize and de-laminate from the wheel over time. This can push the tire of the bead and cause a slow leak. Saw it hundreds of times on Lincolns.
LC500
At first glance, it looked like any other Daytona at the time. It had bigger wheel wells, giving it an almost widebody look that a Charger Scat Pack would be proud of.
Mostly due to nostalgia, I was crushed when they killed Oldsmobile. But I was never quite able to understand how GMC has kept trucking along all these years (pun intended). Yeah yeah yeah, “professional grade”, but it’s a friggin’ Chevy. How are they not able to translate those profit margins into just one line of…
Somebody spent all that trouble on a ‘55 when everyone agrees the ‘57 is the better looking car?! Sheesh.
This is one of my favorite road trip games, identifying the original source of headlights and tail lights for medium and heavy duty chassis vehicles.
I special ordered my Bronco, complete Base stripper except $295 for a good color. (of course, it took Ford 19 months to build it)
Its not really an issue anymore in modern cars. the automaker I test drive for often takes their vehicles through Death Valley in the summer and will drive them hard.
My daily driver is a 2+2 RWD coupe that’s under 3000 lbs. It’s comfortable, engaging to drive, and I’m able to do all the maintenance myself. Until there’s something comparable out there, I’m frankly not interested in a BEV. I don’t need 500 miles of range or a 3-second 0-60: 250 miles and 5 seconds, respectively,…
My problem is always that salespeople know less than me about the car. Why should they get a cut of something I have already researched just to stand there while I fill out paperwork that the finance guy creates.
Agree 100% I’ve worked in the dealership world for 24 years and I will say the Tesla model is amazing. Glad I work on the service end, that part of the business won’t go away anytime soon!
