I was almost the exact same story. Bought a ‘11 fit in 2018 and while I loved how sporty it tried to be, my biggest buyers remorse was how hard it was to keep clean with all of the dirty junkyard things I was hauling in it. Waited for ages to spring on an Element just recently. While the Element is great, I do miss

The Aston Martin Lagonda, growing up with rounded 90s cars (my mother drove a ‘93 Probe), I saw this in a big car almanac at the local library and was infatuated by its hard edge wedge design. That’s super wide, super low hood I just cannot say no to!

If these seats go into anything like the flight I took from New Jersey to Chicago once, the silent speaker system will do nothing to stop the guy next to me loudly guffawing at the episode of “Just Shoot Me” that the in flight TV is playing anyways.

My area is pretty rural so there’s not a lot of local options: Offerup has a no-information bad picture special 2006 Jetta TDi with 198K miles on it:

I actually put one of these NEX recievers in one of my cars (2011 Honda Fit) a few weeks ago. I used a normally closed cabinet switch I had laying around to do the parking brake bypass on it. I just wanted a radio with android auto and have no plans on loading a thumb drive with videos, so I only needed that switch

Having ridden in the back seat of the soft top Geo Trackers / Suzuki Sidekicks in owners groups, the seats are rock hard, way too short, and you bounce around like crazy. Plus all of the crash protection is in front of you so it’s like the equivalent of riding around in a rumble seat of a 1920s car. This 1918

I don’t think I’d ever go as loud and crazy as a full on train horn kind of setup but I have occasionally looked into a set of Cadillac four notes for my small truck. I don’t even want to use them for anything in particular I just think they sound nice.

A coworker of mine has had his new pickup truck no less than a week and he’s already been volunteered by family to move chairs for a wedding, we forgot to warn him about the perils of being the only truck owner in a family!

I guess I can’t really say I have had a lot of questions that have really been stupid, I get a lot asking which way the rear seats fold open (the GM cars had a single seat that faced backwards and Fords open with two seats facing each other) and things about fuel economy, but if I had a dollar for every Family

I’m just passing my 2nd year of home ownership as well deep in the heart of suburbia in Texas and the first thing you learn quick is who the most paranoid / xenophobic neighbors are. One of my neighbors confessed to me they were worried when I moved in because I had “long hair”

Good juxtaposition of articles today!

Ironroot Republic Distillery in Denison, TX is is doing the conversion for the local hospital.

Down the road from me there’s an abandoned house with an equally abandoned Anglia sitting under the carport. I’ve been trying to get hold of the property owner for years to save that car but to no avail. I’m going to keep trying!

Man, losing your job over not wanting to sit in the back seat. What a way to go.

It might be worth looking to see if you can get a reproduction of your dealer window sticker. I know some automakers can re-make those since that information is all databased.

I really enjoyed this series, especially the second game, which seemed like it had really big ideas and not enough time to fully flesh them out (such as the whole downtown area with NPCs and vehicles and such). I would have probably ate this show up if it had come out!

I’ve resolved to finally buy a sensible car and stop relying on a trio of nearly 30 year old cars as daily drivers. I picked up a 89 Maxima from a friend to use as a commuter car, but having sat for years before I got it back running it isn’t long for this world.
My dad wants me to follow in the family tradition of

I feel like we glossed over that last bullet point on the list without going a bit further on how on earth they got THAT specific info!

That’s funny because whenever I (guy) and my roomate (also a guy) go out for a nice dinner the server almost never offers a separate bill. Is it a result of a more accepting society and they think we’re in a relationship? I’ll never know, but it’s never something I thought to care about!

My first car had an auto-dimming rear view mirror and since then I’ve put them one in every car I’ve owned regardless of age. It really is one of the best features you never think about until you don’t have it!
