Also, not sure how far your “Jessica” rabbit hole took you, but Dickey wrote it as a nod to the greatest of the gypsy guitarists, Django Reinhardt. Reinhardt’s hand was badly burned in a caravan fire leaving him with limited use of it, and “Jessica” can be played with only two fingers.
I also love Warren and Derek, but I agree with you about Duane and Dickey. No one could rock an hour long version of “Mountain Jam” like they could.
Duane Allman packed a lot of living into his twenty-four years.
