That’s not what any of us are saying. Or at least not what I’m saying. I mention pretty clearly that I appreciate her advocacy, but I think she bypassed some crucial steps, and I don’t think anyone would have faulted her if she’d waited a few months to get to know her community before appointing herself as its

Seriously, why are people shitting on a person for seeking help? He is an addict. It doesn’t matter what substance he falls off the wagon with, it’s going to be a problem. For me beer is just something I have a couple times a month, you know, to relax. Should I rag on all those weak ass alcoholics out there? How about

I said this above, as someone with an addictive personality:

By Grabthar’s Hammer, that gif is fantastic!

IMO no. I think what she’s really saying that it was a long time ago, she’s over it, she thinks it was uncharacteristic for him (that is, he’s not a danger), and, probably most importantly, that she doesn’t want him to be angry with her now.

It was weed and sleeping pills, apparently. Being addicted to those things is no joke.

I think she might be saying, “Don’t fuck up my settlement.” But, I am cynical.

Sommers hates Paglia, Paglia hates Steinem, Steinem hates Sommers. There’s no doubt that these women are all feminists—they all dedicate their lives to equality among the genders and sexes. Their dispute ultimately boils down to populism versus elitism.

I generally can’t stand her, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a point here and there. Nobody is 100% anything. She is a relic of her times, though. I can respect her roots as a pioneer while still rolling my eyes and going Camille, gurl, give that old song a REST awready.

Uneducated men with unskilled jobs and the uneducated unemployed women who are dependent on them (aka Young Dumb & In Love) are happiest until they have kids and their spouse gets old, sick, and out of shape and lose their job. Then they realize they’re fucked and resent each other.

I worked in HR at Google for nearly eight years; I quit two months ago and am now taking some time off to write and other shit and also stop commuting 4 hours a day and answering emails 24/7.

There is little in the world that is more skin-tingling than a chord that resolves.

I have heard of the book. I have seen some teachers biased against boys, and some biased in favor of boys. Most of us just like kids.

The best way to seat students is in mixed ability groups rather than rows. They all learn from each other. There is almost nothing better for learning a new skill than teaching it to someone else. Google "Whole Brain Teaching." It can actually serve as an extension exercise for high achievers.

Years and years ago, in my Catholic elementary school days, my teachers did the same thing. I picked up on things pretty quickly, and would then get bored quickly, which led to me talking with my friends and interrupting the class. They soon figured out that if they put me next to a student or two who were

Struggling students are often given preferential seating, near the teacher, so that their comprehension and their work can be monitored more closely, and they can get the assistance they need. This is a common accommodation for special ed students, english learners, and students with hearing and vision issues.

I do not like that seating arrangement. Some people enjoy being closer to the teacher and other's get upset from it, not to mention preferential seating for hearing and vision problems. And that would just make poor students more self-conscious. It's one thing if it was based solely on behavior or something.

I have the pdf. There were around 1000 students studied each year (867, 1127, 1017). Methodology seems legit

When I was in student teaching, I remember seeing the results of a district math assessment. I was pleased to note that the one section that I had taught entirely on my own was the one was the one in which every student had scored Proficient.
