Pretty disappointed that Dolores was only 1-gunning things.

Some very big Person of Interest energy tonight.
So Rehoboam = Samaritan’s Great-grandson?
“Claes Bang, a Danish actor best known from The Square” You mis-spelled Dracula.
YES! Been going to 20th Century on and off for the 15 years I’ve lived in this city, they’re great. From being able to go in with oddball requests for recommendations (“we’ve been drinking all afternoon and want to watch something masculine and actiony but also not silly or over the top”) to hiring out one of their…
I actually sorta saw the twist coming- the way that opening scene plays out, it sorta felt like the mother had to be involved. Slasher movie logic I guess.
(On that note, hey, Beth Riesgraf! Never see her enough.)
I was kinda surprised Dennis didn’t complain about Gunnhild’s tear turning to gold.
I really like optimistic Trek — we don’t nuke ourselves; society gets more inclusive; quality of life will improve for most people — I think there is historical precedent for that. I don’t really like Pollyanna Trek — humans evolve beyond all flaws; there’s no more interpersonal conflict — there is no real precedent…
Yeah, I just don’t really agree with that assessment.
Tasha?
Yeah, but the fact they they turned this recurring villain to pretty much a driving force in all of Starfleet is pretty telling.
Agreed. Groundwork was laid by Rick “the sexist, homophobe who thinks he can write” Berman with Enterprise. Seriously, his name is on 30+ scripts in the early seasons. Vulcans were the bad guys NEARLY ALL THE TIME. I loved Vulcans. I was a smart, but very weird, nerd kid who, since I was depressed for being made fun…
The relationship between Picard and Data was most significant during the TNG films, which makes sense given that Picard didn’t start to let his guard down with his crew until the series finale. Even before then, Picard certainly always took a special interest in Data’s quest to become human.
If you look into them for five seconds. I’m pretty sure most New Trek Writers don’t go beyond ”Vulcans don’t have feelings” and then leave it at that demonstrably false assessment.
Vulcans were my favorite species in ST - I am. SO. sick of new Trek not knowing what to do with them (other than Spock, who’s a babbling lunatic, now) than to cast them as heartless, calculating assholes.
I didn’t like the Judoon the first time they popped up but I loved them this time around for the facial expressions. The leader looked so sad when the Doctor called her out for breaking all the space regulations
Hot take:
The universe is a frightening, turbulent place. It’s good to know that there are people out there who, no matter how bad it gets, will always feel like home.
Elizabeth Debecki could murder my family and I’d forgive her. If she did, she probably had a good reason.
I’m getting to the point that I’ll see a film just because Debicki is in it.
