This is baffling. Do they seriously think that they can just replace Orlando Jones and then pretend that, what, Mr Nancy’s new form is actually not all that mad about what’s happened to black people in America? That’s the craziest, stupidest, most ill-considered, and just flat out cowardly move I’ve ever heard. It’s

The Intruders by Michael Marshall was really good. It synchs up very closely with BBCA’s Intruders. While the TV show was frustratingly opaque at times, the book is more engaging. It’s still very opaque but the main narrator is more wry. Maybe I wouldn’t have liked it as much if I hadn’t already seen the show?

I’m so glad The Cape was talked about, and The Lone Ranger! Reindeer Games was the first of his work that I had seen.

I think the BBC show that he alludes to doing before Orphan Black is Intruders (with Millie Bobby Brown), an interesting, creepy one season show. He was, of course, a creepy assassin.

First time i remember seeing him in anything was as David Robert Jones’ attorney in Fringe.

It’s not. The Batman in DKR never killed anyone but the Joker. He didn’t intend or need to kill Supes, just kick his ass until he could fake his own death in the process.

*edit*

I just remembered The Joker in DKR killed himself to make it look like Batman did it.

Um, Kate, what are you doing with that kryptonite, ma’am?

- It’s so weird to hear the “Batman: the Animated Series” Batman voice coming out of a real person.
- That...that is just the perfect ending for “Smallville” Superman. And he has daughters.
- Bruce’s talk with Kate. I think that that’s going to turn her away from trying to kill Alice.
- Batman’s trophies. I see Mr.

I can’t tell if it’s the writing, the performance, or the direction that’s making Lyra so uncompelling. I know Dafne Keen is a capable actress, but even the movie’s flawed version of Lyra was better than the dud we’re getting here.

The problem is that Rick and Morty really doesn’t know the difference between commenting on problematic behavior and engaging in it.

Sir, this is a Wendy’s.

Every alternate reality Clone Rick pops up in turns out to be fascist (“Goddammit when did this shit become the default.”)

This was the first episode directed by Erica Hayes. (Also the first episode directed by a woman.) She storyboarded many of the best episodes of the prior three seasons.

Have you read Novella the ballad of black Tom? It retells the horror of red hook from the perspective of a black man. It is pretty good and it tackles Lovecrafts racism in an interesting way. If they did adapt that story, I would hope they use that Novella.

Didn’t notice this the first time we watched it (er, we were pretty zonked out ... in a good way :D), but on _second_ viewing, when Ace turns off the TV/monitor, his reflection is someone else.  Darker hair, short beard and mustache - assuming this is the guy ordering red wine at an Irish [pre]Wake :)

Oh I’m aware of the saucer people.

Here’s to hoping the hullabaloo over at Deadspin results in some good. Like maybe that awful Venture Capital firm washes their hands of it all and sells the sites to someone that isn’t terrible. Or maybe just Onion/AV Club get bought by someone else. And ultimately AV Club gets rid of Kinja.

So it was revealed in a throwaway line that Beth and Kate are not only sisters, but twins. I’m no biologist, but presumably that makes it a little easier to confirm that the DNA on the knife is not Beth’s, since it will be a very close match to Kate’s if it is.

Don’t know about the others, but the simplest explanation for where Batman went would be “Knightfall happened.”

Infinity War/Endgame level amazing, or completely bonkers.
